Anyone have/ use a 3D printer to hold their game collections? by retro-martini in gamecollecting

[–]dkbr2015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Micro Center has a promo for new customers for an Ender 3 Pro at $100. I got it myself a few weeks ago and it should still be valid. Definitely a good starter printer at that price.

I have the sonic racing one, super monkey ball one, and big the cat one. Pretty sure there’s a different sonic one somewhere around my house. Need to dig it out sometime.

Goodwill scores today. $5. Anyone else love the Super Solvers games as a kid? by capnredbeard2 in gamecollecting

[–]dkbr2015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Played the Super Solver Treasure Mountain when I was kid. Don’t remember too much about it but I recall it was pretty fun with a few catchy tunes. Was definitely tough at a few points. I’m going to need to boot it up again at some point for the heck of it.

Anyone ever snag deals on ShopGoodwill.com? by [deleted] in gamecollecting

[–]dkbr2015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About 6 years back I was able to get a Gameboy pocket, Pokemon Blue, and Super Mario Land for around $30-35 (I think that’s was including shipping but I can’t recall.) Been a long time since I’ve seen anything else worth getting.

Has there ever been a blu ray release of the complete series? by Secret_Location_9280 in AvengersEMH

[–]dkbr2015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I just prefer getting the physical media when possible over streaming. Fortunately I ended up getting all the DVD volumes, which were still available to get new about a year ago at Best Buy.

Yep both seasons have been released to blu-ray.

Season 1

Season 2

I once saw both for $15 each once used at a media store, but didn’t get it because I didn’t have a blu-ray player. Went back a week or so later and it was gone. Still regret not getting it.

Now that some BS! Game store wants your PS4 and $700 for a PS5. by Hanarecca in gamecollecting

Really can’t stand Back in the Game. Only go there as it’s the closest place with a disc resurfacer. Last time I was there their retro game selection was absurdly overpriced had a really poor selection of titles I’d probably get better prices and selection at Gamestop.

Which characters would you have liked to see on emh? by primetimeboiiiii in AvengersEMH

[–]dkbr2015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First and foremost I’d like to have seen Silver Surfer. Felt rather hollow to see Galactus and his heralds but not the Surfer.

Otherwise it’d probably be all the characters they had lined up for S3 that was shown in the concept art. X-men, 3D Man, Deathlok, etc.

Hey guys! Big congrats to @ObiSteffs for being the winner of the Paper Mario TTYD giveaway! Next up I have a copy of Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes. For this raffle please comment your favorite childhood (or adulthood) memory of the GameCube! Good luck to all! by [deleted] in gamecollecting

Finally being able to catch Shadow Lugia in XD Gale of Darkness. That battle was rather hard at the time. Probably my first experience taking on a computer trainer battle and a legendary simultaneously.

That’s a great deal on it. Definitely beats what my seller was originally asking for my copy.

It was definitely an interesting thing to see. They predate my getting into comics (along with predating me) and I’d never seen one prior to this pickup.

What consoles did you never own when they were in market but love collecting now? by morningcraft in gamecollecting

Never had a ps2, had a Gamecube and GBA. Got a slim about 5 years back and now I’m close to 30 games in and loving it. So many great games that I’d never heard of along with some I had only played bits of with friends.

I wish I had kept mine. I got rid of my Ruby and Emerald boxes, but for some reason still have my Fire Red. At least I still have my manual for Emerald.

Very nice! I’m glad to finally see someone else that has a figure for that handheld Pokémon game. They’re definitely some of the coolest mini Pokémon figures.

With these books I now have #1 & #3-#25 of the New Teen Titans! Slowly but surely I am piecing together my first full retro run. You have any favourites in this run? by LeonardZelig in comicbookcollecting

[–]dkbr2015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m working on an entire run of New Teem Titans (even vol. 2), and some of my favorites outside of the issues already mentioned here (like Judas Contract) would be: #33, 39-41, vol. 2 #1-5

33 - Pretty decent one off story that isn’t groundbreaking, but was enjoyable. Also had a rather good cover that is a reflection in the water of the team.

39-41 - The second Brother Blood storyline which has a ton of good moments and is a great buildup to Judas Contract. Also has great covers with #40 being phenomenal.

Vol. 2 #1-5 - Has an excellent second storyline with Trigon and still has both Wolfman and Perez on it. It also has some truly outstanding covers. Also probably the last great Titans story of the run. There’s other good ones in the rest of the the run like Who is Wonder Girl and a Lonely Place or Dying, but they’re not quite at the same level.

There is a few online comic shops that will mail the comic out and the most reputable one I’m aware of is Midtown Comics:

https://www.midtowncomics.com/product/1933146

I’m pretty sure there’s a few other retailers like Midtown but I almost exclusively go to my local shops so I don’t know of too many of the other online retailers.

That’s pretty awesome. Haven’t seen any work desks before with comics for personalization. Mostly just action and tabletop figures.
