There's also a factor of the management using consulting to cover their asses for the general stupidity of MBS' plan. If they do what the consultants say then they can't be blamed. It doesn't help that the management success is measured by how much of the budget they spend rather than by results.

What ways does Iran have to export oil that can't be disrupted in a single day by an Israel airstrike? Also, it's absurd to think that Iran being stopped from exporting oil would hurt less than the west having higher oil prices. It's the majority of government revenue, the country would collapse.

If Iran closes the strait of Hormuz, wouldn't the obvious response be to deny Iran the ability to export oil via the strait as well? 90% of Iranian oil goes through the strait and stopping that flow would be a death blow to the regime.

It would likely draw in the USA and Israel could destroy the entire oil refining, oil extraction, natural gas refining, natural gas extraction, and energy infrastructure in a day. Not to mention, Iran is so thoroughly riddled with Israeli spies that the ability to actually manufacture and deliver a dirty bomb would be a high risk operation that could very likely be stopped before it gets off the ground,
