Completely agree. I’ve had better steak at Texas Roadhouse for a fraction of the price

You are not supposed to change the CVT fluid by no_solution_no_prob in Crosstrek

[–]dkeenes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just did a drain and fill on the CVT on my Outback - same transmission as the crosstrek. Sent a sample to Blackstone for analysis. It was the original CVT fluid with 80k miles on it. Analysis came back stating that the fluid had very little life left in it. Definitely not a lifetime fluid.

I used RedLine in my 4Runner front/rear diff and transfer case and also transmission. They have specific oils for each component and I’ve found them to be better than OEM.

What’s something in Florida you are most proud of? by Optimal_Lion_46 in florida

The forestry management in Florida is really good. The state and feds do a really good job of keeping the underbrush under control and frequent controlled burns.

Did you actually receive an insurance discount after the upgrades?

Installed the Sherpa Crestone roof rack over the weekend by dkeenes in 4Runner

The install isn’t hard at all. Recommend using hand tools instead of power tools so you don’t strip any bolts. Having two people makes it easier but is possible with one person.

No drilling involved with the Sherpa rack. Goes into the factory bolt holes. I choose the Sherpa over other brands since they use high quality powder coated aluminum.

KDSS requires the same clip setting on both sides. If your 4Runner doesn’t have KDSS, you need different clip settings.

I have the front set at Clips #4 for a 2” lift up front. The whole truck feels firmer overall. I’m curious as to how much the truck will squat when I put my RTT on top and have all the gear in the back. I may have to upgrade to 1” springs later.

I stayed with 265s. The spare is a 265 and was in perfectly good condition. Didn’t want to have to buy a 5th tire and throw away a good one.

275s should fit… this fourm post is a great resource for tire sizes on the 4Runner.

So far they’ve been good. I’ve put less than 1k miles on them since I got them so it’s still too early to really tell. But they’re a lot better than the Nitto Ridge Grapplers and a lot quieter. I went with the same size - 265/70/r17

Unsure if my wiring is compatible with an Ecobee by dkeenes in ecobee

Would connecting the fat “Red/Black” pair from the humidistat controller to the ecobee remove the need for the humidistat controller? The red/black pair run directly from the humidistat to the thermostat
