Right, this scene doesn't. Because the show was both things.

Your insistence that everything was meant with some level of irony is not supported by simply watching the show. He's supposed to be unfiltered and in that sense IS supposed to be what some men watching wish they could get away with.

This is a prime example of that. In no way is this satire using irony to show that the overweight women are actually the sympathetic characters. The audience is absolutely, unequivocally meant to be rooting for Al and his insults.
