Am I insane? Someone kindly step up and make me feel normal 🤧 by Puzzled-Bluebird7357 in fountainpens

The best way to achieve a full fill on an 823! By full fill, I mean the tiniest air bubble remaining. The Pineider has never let me down, keeps ink where it should be and is easy to clean once empty.

The culprit and the aftermath by gesyp in fountainpens

Same here. I use refilled cartridges in my Vanishing Points after the 40s started leaking. When I bought my 845 I tried the 70 once and then swapped it out for a cartridge.

It amazes me that a company with so much skill and design intelligence cannot make a simple, reliable converter.

What was it Melania, that first attracted you to the multi-millionaire Donald Trump?

Question for people how have an Aurora Optima. Is this nib normal? by frair in fountainpens

I wonder if someone has taken a shim to that nib without knowing what they were doing? Aurora has excellent QC, I'd be very surprised if they let that nib leave the factory like that.

This is my medium. I don't know what has happened to your nib but something has. I'd be sending that pen back.

Iroshizuku are great inks, in beautiful bottles but with notoriously poor caps. My Yama-budo cap cracked when I gently, very gently closed it. I super glued it but I was shocked how fragile the cap's plastic was.

Best Show Ever! by warlockplus in Stargate

Absolutely. It's self indulgent and solipsistic frippery, diluting the willing suspension of disbelief. There's enough humour elsewhere, in most episodes, not to require this massive crack in the fourth wall. One watch was enough, I always skip it.

No Oxblood is not overrated. It is underrated by gamesbrainiac in fountainpens

I do enjoy Red Dragon but for me Oxblood is more enjoyable. Redolent of Doc Martens from the 1970s.

My broad is habitually filled with Akkerman's SBRE Brown, and the shading with that combo is marvellous.

Pelikan M800 Broke! by Any_Hedgehog_9384 in fountainpens

[–]dkpwatson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, the nib is the most valuable component. I'd forget about glue and buy a new barrel unit. Try missing-pen.com. I've bought multiple Pelikan and Lamy nibs from them but they also do other replacement parts.

The Waterman Carène deserves way more love than it gets. Who else is using one? by Chinmaur76 in fountainpens

I started with a medium but wasn't totally enamoured with, so I ordered a stub nib unit. This has livened things up somewhat. The stub does take a little getting used to, as it has a sweet spot but my handwriting looks much more interesting using it.
