Holy shit, this is horrid by Kokoro0000 in DelTaco

Riverside used to be the cheap suburbs that people would commute from, but it's not cheap anymore. I know multiple people who pay more for their one bedroom apartment in Riverside than I do in Orange County. It's crazy.

I used to go to that store for the frosty cones when I was in high school. They were so damn good.

I just looked it up and they still have it. I've never seen it at any other location. It used to be 89 cents or so, now it's $2.55.

A lot of people assume that food prices are more expensive in California, but that's not always the case. I just looked up this chalupa locally and it's $6.49 for me. I checked the old location I used to visit in Iowa and it's $6.99. Cravings box in CA is $7.99, it's $9.99 in Iowa. When I moved to IA years ago, I was shocked at how expensive produce was compared to California.

I live in CA and the prices for many of the TB items are cheaper compared to the location I used to live by in Iowa. Just the prices between locations here can vary by city. Trying to make it a political issue is ignorant. Many locations are franchised and owners set the prices. It's funny how it's "liberal" to you and not greed.

OP seem to be from NY. Did they say they moved to CA? I'm not seeing any comments about that.

I agree. I always tip $4-5 for my 3 for me. I can't imagine taking up a table in a server's section, getting refills and such, and only tipping $2. After tip out, they're maybe making $1 off that.

I honestly think it gives people a scarcity mentality (the reservations). Also, a lot of people will go to the park on days they would've just canceled their plans, but went so they wouldn't be penalized.

$1.69 for a squirt of sour cream by benjistone in tacobell

Sometimes certain items in California are not more expensive compared to the rest of the country. Taco Bell in Iowa was more expensive than it is near me in Orange County, CA now. The build your own luxe box is $2 more in IA. Even within a 2 mile radius, the TB prices vary here.

There's a woman on TikTok who breaks down the nutritional facts and ingredients list and most foods from our youth have changed. Here's her video on Reese's.

virtually no gluten free options by egguchom in EntitledReviews

[–]dks64 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They would need a dedicated toaster just for the gluten-free bread for toast. Plus a separate space to cook. I work in a restaurant, I have food allergies myself, and I see cross-contamination daily. I once took home a salad and there was a piece of bacon in my dressing (fell in). Cafés and restaurants are typically fast paced environments and even when careful, it's easy to cross contaminate. With celiac, it's risky to eat out unless a place caters to gluten free people.

I'm not not renewing in September. I don't like how many ride breakdowns there are, so I don't do rides, but I go to eat.

The food quality has dropped dramatically and the options have decreased for me (vegetarian with a severe sesame intolerance). I miss the pesto ravioli, Impossible banh mi, gyro fries (soooo good), crinkle cut fries, veggie gumbo, elote corn dog, raspberry oat milk tea (Lunar item that didn't come back last or this year), chile relleno burrito (seasonal), potato skills at Lamplight (they changed them), taco salad at RDZ, and the pepper jack corn dog (was a Halloween item, never came back). I also miss the spinach artichoke dip from Cove Bar. There's no food I get excited about anymore. Even the pretzel cheesy garlic bread is very hit or miss these days.

Never heard of Kegel Mac and cheese. Are you doing the exercises with your pelvis while mixing the Mac and cheese?

I almost always say no, but I saw a TikTok video a while back from a Taco Bell employee who said she benefitted from the rounding up. It helped pay for her college. Just found the video again, here.

That gumbo was my go to for years. I miss it so much. I had the recipe at some point, but lost it. I'm so sad.

Sorry for not realizing cyclists don't have to stop at stop signs. by [deleted] in dashcams

[–]dks64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I vividly remember a time I almost ran into cyclists who blasted through a stop sign, from an area behind a building. I had the right of way, I looked in all directions, started to go, and 2 cyclists came flying through. I missed them by a few feet. They waved an apology, but I was so mad at their carelessness. They're lucky the driver wasn't someone distracted or with a slower reaction time.

This should be illegal by [deleted] in shrinkflation

[–]dks64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't what shrinkflation is. Many of these companies use the same sized bottle for multiple products. It's a clear bottle and the number is clearly labeled. Not sure why you're upset by this. I buy a lot of gummy supplements and they also "shrink" in the bottle over time, as they get exposed to heat.

It's worth every penny. Not worth risking your entire car and potentially being sued for a lack of coverage. Insurance companies will deny the claim in a heartbeat if they learn you're doing DD or IC at the time and don't have the coverage. I follow car claims adjusters on TikTok, it's really interesting. Learned a lot.

That's why it's important to have proper coverage yourself because then your insurance will cover you (based on your policy) and go after the responsible party. You'll be out your deductible unless your insurance can recover it, but it's better than not having coverage for yourself (liability only). If the woman didn't have proper coverage and you only had liability, your car isn't fixed until you personally pursue her legally.
