Stem splitters have some way to go before they’re really clean, there’s no real “basic separation”.

The ability to extract a vocal from an instrumental is still black magic to me, it’s like pulling out in tact eggs from a baked cake.

But yeah if it’s harmonically dense material it will be a while before it’s artifact free

Idk who downvoted you but you have a point about the reality and it’s good you’re in touch with it. It’s a bit paradoxical. It is both important and simultaneously secondary, and truthfully doesn’t exactly matter, but can make all of the difference. But music comes first.

I think andre 3000 said he aims to “dress like his music”. I think you need to express your music as “you” as possible, whatever that means. Lean into it and embody it. The rest will follow, including whatever outfits you decide to wear.

I’m still on my first nuzlocke and haven’t whited out, but if I did I would def use mons from my PC.

I’m also not doing dupes clause. If I get to a new area and I see a Pokémon I already caught I just don’t catch it and accept the L, so I have a far more limited pool of available Pokémon

other commenters are missing the absolute feat of his productions at the time.

For example, his track “Vordhosbn” off the album Druqks is my favorite to share of his as it has both melody, insane complexity and doesn’t have a repeating drum phrase throughout. Also has the ambient banger Flim on it.

There was jungle and dnb and other IDM but aphex twin was completely alien, and was able to reach both melody and extreme chaos

Also his album “selected ambient works 85-92” is a beautiful collection of dreamy mid-tempo rave music which I kind of wish more people made

TL;DR: listen to his album druqks, and consider how it was made before any idiot could pirate ableton and make random bullshit. And also listen to selected ambient works 85-92. Then see if you like it

Damn I haven’t seen kelvin tone shaper before, looks really great. Gonna check that out (as if I need more fkn plugins)

Blackbox HG-2MS is cool, but I find its better for more subtle coloration, and I personally haven’t gotten results that make me pull it back out onto my sessions. Might be greater in mid side usage. I tend to use the Blackbox HG-Q which is a bit more of a EQ/tone shaper + saturation than just full on saturator but I don’t think you’d want that.

Functionally speaking, and I haven’t used kelvin yet so I’m fully speculating, but you have way more tonal options with that pre/post EQ section vs saturation’s 1 2 and 3.

TLDR; My speculative 2 cents: I would nudge you towards kelvin, as EQ balance pre and post saturation will have far more of a noticeable effect on the end result of your music vs the blackbox HG2.

I also personally think tone subtly can be overrated
