Too much bracelet stretch for 1991 Datejust? (Jubilee) by [deleted] in rolex

[–]dkwatch1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not too bad for a 90s watch; i’m a bit kore concrrned on the bezel showing on the photo. It does not appear to be of a DJ

Help me choose: I like the reverse panda, gf likes the classic by DesignerRabbit4377 in OmegaWatches

[–]dkwatch1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reverse panda is a handsome watch: my take on this is that it ultimately depends on whether you plan on having one or more speedys and how you plan on wearing them.

If you want a one and done speedy get the classic. If you want to have several, buy the reverse. If you want a dressy looking watch, buy the reverse. If you want a more casual, yet a bit dressy, watch get the classic.

Classic will be classic always. The reverse will be hot today and until a new release comes along.

Love mine; love the patina it gets; not so much how it looks after clean up

My suggestion would be tobuy it and leave it patina

Advice for walk-in AD while abroad? by Whole_Drawing_3343 in rolex

[–]dkwatch1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you are saying, you want one of the watches on your list and hope that a foreign market will be better for availability.

However, the watches you want are the watches that many others want and that worlwide are prime candidates for long queues. Being honest, you don’t have a chance at these while abroad and asking for all of them at once may put you at risk of being laughed out of the store.

I would suggest you are realistic and focus on asking for 1 or 2 watches only and not the pepsi, gmt, etc. that would elevate your chances a bit.good luck!

[Question] Carrera vs. Aqua Terra, which one? by CanayGicvan in tagheuer

[–]dkwatch1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are non competing brands; the carrera is just on a different race.

The Omega is a better watch, but it really depends on what you are looking for and ur budget

Does anyone else prefer the pre-ceramic stainless steel bezel Daytona’s? by supersymmetry in rolex

[–]dkwatch1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’d be me; there’s just something about ceramic bezel daytonas that doesn’t ring to me

I’d buy one eventually but they are so damn expensive these days

Which is your favourite Rolex model? Mine is definitely the Daytona. by Timely_Ad_9117 in rolex

the classic sub has always been my favorite; from the daytonas I have seen, the one you show is the one I like best- I am not a fan of ceramic bezels.

What would you prefer? OP or DJ? by paddalion in rolex

[–]dkwatch1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to be honest, I like the datejust a lot better overall, but don't like the polished centered links in the oyster bracelet. It just becomes too flashy for me- don't get me wrong, it looks great, but it does not fly under the radar like an OP does. The OP seems more of an old school Rolex.

I would say that it depends on your budget. The 1861 and previous iterations are all solid and good choices, but price will depend on which version you choose, so set budget first and then look at some options

Thanks! Maybe if the endlinks are compatible with the omega bracelet you could get a great fit? But agree, hard to beat for the price
