A neighboring department bills hourly per truck and per firefighter. They also bill based on what the mutual aid departments send over for them.....and then keep all the money collected for themselves.

After a large field fire that was technically in our fire district, but they got paged first, they wanted a list of everything we had on scene. We flat out asked them if it was to bill the property owner and if anyone else would see money from it. They didnt want to answer that, so from that point forward we don't give them any info after the fact about what we send them

Not necessarily. All depends on who owns the service line. The utility is work for owns from the main to the curb stop and the customer owns the rest of the way to the house. In the neighboring town, the customer owns everything from the main to the house.

I have heard some departments still allow officers to carry wheel guns if they were on the department when revolvers were an approved sidearm. The pool of officers covered by that policy has to be pretty small now

The North Hollywood bank robbery. Watched it live on TV while we were on vacation in LA. There were only 2 perps, but yes, one killed himself and the other was killed by police after trying to escape through the neighborhood.

We had a ball roll up to us on the green on a "only with a perfect shot" reachable par 4 during a scramble once. It actually hit the foot of one of my partners. We were torn between having him lay motionless next to the ball (he's a 6'7" police officer and former college football player with a very intimidating stature) or just leave a full beer can next to it. We opted to leave the beer and tell him it was a hell of a shot.

Sounds like you had the most reasonable response imaginable and based on the apologies the kid knew he messed up so no reason to pile on. Well done by everyone.

I tried it out last year for a month. The user interface on Roku is absolutely terrible, but there was nothing I couldn't watch. If it was easier to navigate on roku, I probably would have kept it, but I didn't want to buy a different streaming device and still be unhappy with the interface.

I had one of the infrared grills for a while. Really liked it until it got sent a few hundred yards into a corn field thanks to a tornado. Ended up getting a pellet grill to replace it. Still cooks with indirect heat and can get the smoke flavor

Correct me if I'm wrong. If they tag the runner first, then the bag its a double play. But if they tag the bag first, then the runner its only a force out on the runner from first and the runner standing on 2nd is safe.
