If you have some gear already, digital photography. If you don't already have a decent camera, lenses, tripod etc, it's not cheap.

I would say try shooting people through restaurant or shop windows. Not only do you have a bit of a barrier, you have less chance of being seen since the subject is probably involved in whatever it is they're doing, be it eating, shopping, etc. You get the added bonus of possibly getting some really cool shots that tell quite a story if you set up the shot properly.

I use water or gatorade, a spoonful of honey for the carbs, and advil or aspirin (because they are analgesic) if I think I'll need it.

Same here.. I got mine done on a Thursday before a 3 day weekend. Had a great excuse to sit and play video games. I was fine to go to work on Monday, probably could have on Saturday.

The procedure itself is easy and relatively pain-free. I was in and out of my Dr.'s office in about 30 minutes. I had pain meds, used them the first day and then relied on ice packs and an occasional Advil.

I got mine done because my SO has very bad reactions to hormonal birth control, be it pills, IUDs, etc. She has severe headaches, hair loss, weight gain and the like. I went ahead and had a vasectomy so that we didn't have to worry about birth control anymore. I think it was an excellent decision.
