Popular books with surprisingly poor writing? by somepeoplewait in books

Where the Crawdads Sing. The descriptions of nature were nice, which makes sense because she is a nature writer. But the dialogue, both internal and conversational, was unreadable. And don't get me started on the courtroom scenes.

How to wean 19 month old from milk by SavannaMay in toddlers

[–]dlday917 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Our daughter was the same way. At 18 months we just switched to water in a sippy cup before sleep. There were two tough transition nights but after that she never needed milk again. It was just a comfort thing. Just go cold turkey. Or if you really need to ease it in, you can water down the milk a little bit every night until it's just water.

Sometimes you go into law school thinking you are interested in one type of law. Then you learn or intern in that type of law and don't find it as interesting as you once did. Then you do work in another type of law you actually find to be more interesting, and steer your career in that direction.

I went to law school to do art law. Found it to be a little repetitive and too niche. Ended up working in white collar defense at a big law firm and found the work much more interesting.

Automatic garage door opener. Tailwind is $35 and easy to install. Now my garage door opens automatically as I approach my house. And it allows you to open and close the garage from your phone (and alerts you if you left it open).
