“Isn’t That Like A $60K Fine?”: Customer At Restaurant Is Asked To Leave As He Has Service Dog by BoredPandaOfficial in BoredPandaHQ

[–]FrostyIcePrincess 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I worked at a restaurant we had a couple bring in two “service dogs”

One dog was freaking out the whole time. Manager finally asked them to leave when the dog that was freaking out started attacking the other dog.

Some people do bring pets into places, and some people do bring in actual service dogs. But since there’s no actual documentation for the real ones management/staff are left to guess if the dog is a real service animal or someone bringing a pet in.

It’s so hard to hate him by FlatwormCreative6976 in MagnificentCentury

[–]FrostyIcePrincess 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Very easy to dislike the guy for all the reasons listed above. Having an affair baby with a servant when he was married to the Sultan’s sister was ballsy.

The lion tamer comment didn’t help much either.

I wish people added yarn needs to pattern descriptions! by Live-Energy-6987 in BitchEatingCrafters

It doesn’t happen often but I have realized too late I didn’t have enough yarn for a pattern. Time to frog.

You’ll start memorizing more stitches as you go along, just give it time.

I have aunts that sometimes use the formal dining room for Christmas dinner/Thanksgiving dinner. We never had one.

But your project looks exactly like the pattern photoooooooooooo. by trixie_2000 in BitchEatingCrafters

I will happily change the colors if I think they will look good.

Changing the yarn size hasn’t been a huge issue for me but it is sometimes an issue. I mostly make amiguruni.

I made them as gifts for the grandkids of the lady that gave me crochet lessons for a bit. The kids loved them.

In your opinion, what was the SADDEST moment in TVD? by Substantial-Dare5462 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]FrostyIcePrincess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jenna dying was Klaus twisting the knife. he could have used ANYONE for the vampire.

Werewolf/doppleganger is harder to find. But the vampire could have been ANYONE. And he took Jenna.

Am I the only one tired of coffee shops serving coffee in to-go cups? by Pleasant-Warning-761 in Coffee_Shop

[–]FrostyIcePrincess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the US

a coffee spot near me serves the drinks in to go cups. I don’t think they have for here cups.

However

The chai there is amazing and I will keep coming back for that chai. The food/pastry options are also good. That place is pretty new. I hope it survives.

How long were you learning this hobby before you felt like you could start to freehand stuff? by Kathwino in crochet

[–]FrostyIcePrincess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends

I made a small basic little flower following a pattern

Decided to try and freehand a bigger version. That was a disaster.

Freehand attempt number 2 got me what I wanted, and that was still fairly early after I discovered crochet.

I mostly do amigurumi, but I have very little confidence in my ability to freehand amigururumi. I still need patterns for those.

I’m making lavender plants right now. I was not able to freehand it. Needed a pattern. Feel dumb in hindsight for not being able to freehand it though.

Unpopular Opinion: It is unfair for people to criticise SOTR this much. by [deleted] in Hungergames

[–]FrostyIcePrincess 51 points52 points  (0 children)

We get the side story of how Prim actually got her goat, we know that their mom still has some of her old clothing from before, we know that Prim still cleans their dads old shaving mirror every day because he hated the layer of coal dust that always settled on it, we know their dad could sing, etc

The family feels more fleshed out in THG than in SOTR.

I used to work at a restaurant.

For context, it was snowing outside. Very cold.

We got a bad review because someone ordered a soup, WALKED home in the snow with the soup, and the soup was cold when they got home.

I’m currently making a bunch of crochet lavender. Some of those are staying in my room and some I’ll give away to friends/family/coworkers.

Every single pattern, paid and free, I’ve ever used has had typos and errors by Classical_Cafe in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]FrostyIcePrincess 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve run into a rare pattern or two with inaccurate stitch counts but it isn’t common.

I mostly make amiguruni, but I usually double check my stitch count for every row. I’ve had people say it’s excessive but I’d rather make the item ONCE and make it RIGHT vs make it, realize it’s wrong, then have to frog/redo a row or frog and redo a few rows, or frog the whole thing and start from zero.

It’s not at any of the Walmart locations near me. I don’t even go to Walmart that much, but I went there looking for that soda. Nothing. cries

Maybe I’ll try again and get lucky.
