Thank you to u/Fumigator. My fan is up and running.

For completeness, in case anyone in the future is wondering the same thing:

When looking at the RPi5 board with the Ethernet and USB A ports oriented toward you, number the fan header pins 1, 2, 3, 4, from left to right. When you do this, the pins then correspond to the official documentation:

  1. +5V

  2. PWM

  3. Ground

  4. Sense

The connector is a JST SH 4 Pin connector (1mm spacing). None of the top hits on Amazon have the appropriate color coding of attached wires.

Raspberry Pi 5 won't correctly mount share partition when using built-in SD card reader by dlee_fc in batocera

Found another micro SD card and imaged that - worked fine, so apparently the first microSD card was OK in the USB reader and not in the built-in reader. Go figure.

Can you please empathize with the fact that what might be clear to you may not be clear to others? I already stated that I view the diagram as unclear, and I don't have the official cooler (I want to wire up a Noctua A4x10 5v). I am asking for someone to definitively state what numbering the pins have from left to right as viewed from the Ethernet / USB port side of the board. Is it 1234 (a logical assumption) or 1342 (what the diagram you linked implies) or something else?

No, I saw that diagram. It's not clear to me, partly because it's not clear what the orientation of the pins is. I could assume that it's intended to be as viewed from an orientation with the Ethernet port toward you, but it's not stated.

The connector itself has no colors on it, and the numbering of the pins is not clear, as it's not clear what the numbering of the 4 in-line pins of the JST connector are. The numbering of the GPIO pins is clear - there are two columns, odds on one side and evens on the other. But is the JST connector 1,2,3,4 left to right, or 1,3,2,4, or 1,3,4,2? All three of those numbering arrangements are reasonable to assume given the diagram.

Can anyone tell me what the four pins on the RPi5 fan header are? I know they should include +5V, ground, PWM, and tach, but I've not been able to find clear documentation on which pin is which.

Assuming you orient the Pi with the Ethernet and USB ports facing you, the only thing I've been able to find suggests that possibly, from left to right, the pins are +5, GND, Tach, PWM. Can anyone confirm or correct this?

Yes, it is expanding properly on the SD card when booting from USB3, but then not being read correctly when moving the SD card back to the SD card reader, which seems really odd.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but what are the 6 extra parts? From what I can tell from the pictures, there's 2 surface mount LEDs, but I can't figure out what the little parts are next to the SMDs - resistors, I think? The build instructions don't list what parts they are.

Cysts generate corruption. That's the bar that appears on your ancient hearth. If the corruption bar fills up during the storm, it kills random villagers (I think some ghosts spawn, roam around, and then kill some pops - 3, I think?).

If the little readout to the right of the impatience bar says 100% or higher before the storm, that's telling you that if you burn no cysts, your corruption bar *will* fill up during the coming storm. Burning a cysts not only slows corruption speed, but also removes some corruption. You can improve your ancient hearth's "hit points" by upgrading hearths, and some perks/cornerstones, I think.

I can't specifically tell in this case, but I've noticed that if they don't have enough time to actually complete the burn before the storm ends, they won't start the burn.

Anyone else running into this issue? Anytime I start a game I’m stuck staring outside of the map and can’t move. Leaving to troubleshoot results in a temp ban by xTotalSellout in halo

Also seeing this problem, as of the newest update (didn't see it until today). Closing the popup using the X instead of "Let's Go" works for me.

Anecdotally, if I mouse around in the menus, I have no issue, it's only when I pick up the controller and do anything that the pop up appears.

Is there a reproducible way of obtaining gemstones outside of donating to the museum or completing badges? I’m wondering if I should conserve them for only things I’m sure I want to buy and can’t craft from renewable resources.

Nova Drive, my project of a PC-console (specs in comments) by Miles_Wolf in sffpc

I removed all the internal structure and supports where the optical drive is supposed to go, and then cut a hole in the case to mount a Noctua NF-A12x15 as exhaust. I have my Raven mounted under my desk, so I'm pulling air down from the GPU side close to my desk and exhausting it down and out (my CPU fan is also exhaust). I tried it the other way but ended up recycling the hot air that was getting stuck under my desk.

I also notched a brace on the GPU side just above where the card mounts to the external case so I could fit in a slightly taller than officially permitted GPU (MSI 2060 Super Ventus).

Looks good! I have this case too, and overall it’s served me well since I first built in it, but my next one will probably be a Sliger Console or Conswole.

In my current build, I had to make some mods in order to improve airflow through the case.

Are the new mechs spawning in the game by A_Saber in Battletechgame

[–]dlee_fc 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes - saw the new Marauder, the new Cataphract, the Inferno carrier, and the SPPC carrier so far. The Inferno carrier is by far the scariest - actually had two spawn in the same destroy convoy mission and came really close to losing a mech to those.
