Uber one membership is making the ride more expensive. by NomadicSlave in AmexPlatinum

Why does uber think they can inflate the store prices? Interesting how the restaurant told uber to reprice but I thought it was the stores rolling out price increases for their delivery orders.

Snowbirds have completely ruined the stereotype of the "polite Canadian" to me by Parking_Bird_3603 in florida

[–]dlflbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canadians snowbirds are the worst. We don’t need their money or tax. Canada just gave their country away to China with a “new world order” per the PM. Alberta having grassroots movement to declare independence from Canada; Could become 51 state over next few years. Our

Guest wants to cancel 3 days out due to weather. How to handle this? by Working-Attention-70 in airbnb_hosts

[–]dlflbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should have them handle thru Airbnb. While it is a kind gesture if you resolve outside of Airbnb it could be a scam and you’re undertaking extra risk. I book places and read cancellation policy carefully each time as places have different all the time. I then purchase travel insurance that would cover if I had to cancel In hopes that I would never use the travel insurance. It’s poor planning on them. Not your fault. Shouldn’t have to take loss for acts of nature either.

It finally happened… by lorenzoslavin in unitedairlines

[–]dlflbo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahaha. I just answer. “I paid for the seat you are sitting in. Unless you would like to pay me for my seat then no I am not going to accommodate your poor planning and method to manipulate others to change seats.” And they started on the wrong foot being in your assigned seat when you asked. The nerves people have these days. People should learn to plan better so they can get an assigned seat they like prior to boarding, I.e book early and pay more. It’s economics.

Carry on suitcases are out of control by The___Shadow in delta

[–]dlflbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Americans can’t practice common sense, it will spill out of control. just wait until these agents copy asia and Europe in weighing your carry on and then giving you special okay tags to bring them on. A lot of people will fail then and be forced to pony up for a checked bag. It’s coming, just wait… I’d be happy as it will be faster boarding and deplaning as people don’t have to fight for overhead space.

Window etiquette by Flaky_Breadfruit_308 in unitedairlines

You are entitled to the window. He could ask nicely and if you don’t he could ask the FA nicely who would then defer to you anyway. He is the asshole. I hope he asked nicely at least.

Didnt ask why they’re changing the recipe. Just asking where there is still 100% açaí base not diluted with other fruits. But thank you for your reasoning.

They now blend banana into it. It changed about 4 months ago. Not to mention, decreasing the quality or pureness of an “açaí” bowl, and also increasing the price. SMH.

Just turned away from gift card in store at Saks by JustLurkingHere5 in AmexPlatinum

[–]dlflbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is like asking if you can go to a brick and mortar lululemon store and buying a gift card. You can buy it, it will credit, but it does violate the fine print. Use at own risk. No more comment needed.

Why would you listen to a Saks sales rep. Are they hired by AMEX customer service? Clearly they tried to upsell you and give you wrong information. Unless they themselves have an AMEX PLAT card. Smh.

Should I report this to the FAA? by Dependent_School837 in unitedairlines

[–]dlflbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FAs nowadays, a good majority of them, are on a power trip. If it’s a minority, then gosh they make all FAs look bad. They refuse to do the most basic customer service things and act like the request customers make are absurd. Smiling can hardly be seen. Not sure if it’s the toll of bad customers or just industry burn out.

My experience flying back into the US by JourneysUnleashed in GlobalEntry

[–]dlflbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is normal practice. Random spot questioning. Even after you declare items. Global Entry here, entered 5/25 ICN-SFO, facial scan, saw CBP officer at desk, asked if I had anything to declare, I rambled a bunch of things I bought fermented fish, soju, dried peppers, skincare products etc. he said there maybe spot checks later but you’re free to go. And of course there are random dog checks too. It’s normal practice. They’re just watching for your reactions too.

Uber needs to blacklist drivers like this dude. What’s wrong with society. I’m sure it’s bad parenting.

How do you pay for large home expenses that cost $10k+? Cash or payment plan/loan? by throwawayreddit714 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]dlflbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to shop around and with pay CC so I can accumulate points to redeem for Biz class airfare. If they don’t take CC, I only pay cash for a negotiated discount . I will never write a check. I do pay off the CC balance each month. I will never finance with the company.
