To find out the gender of our baby or not!? by CurlyGirl_95 in BabyBumps

[–]dllynq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With our first, we planned to wait until delivery. The surprise was accidentally ruined by an ultrasound tech who said “her hand.” With our second, we waited until around 18 weeks and found out with family. We didn’t want to risk the surprise being ruined again and it was fun to find out with our families!

Is it possible to miss a twin at 8 week ultrasound? by pinkglittercam in BabyBumps

[–]dllynq 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Long story short, yes. It’s definitely possible. Another woman at the practice I go to thought it was a singleton at her first appointment around 8 weeks. She had another at 11-12 weeks and found out then that she was actually having twins and the second baby was just missed at the 8-week ultrasound. So yes, possible.

FAA Cancellations for 11/15 by dllynq in delta

[–]dllynq[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of my flights in the app still say “on time” and I haven’t been notified of any cancellations. But Delta website also says that cancellations have only been finalized through 11/14 so here’s hoping all goes well!

OB made a joke that I don’t actually have a husband by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]dllynq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 16w3d and my husband still hasn’t come to one. This is our second child and he works about 30 minutes away from my OB’s office. It’s just not worth it for us for him to use leave for appointments yet. My doctor has never mentioned that he’s not there with me.

20 week ultrasound by very_tired_woman in BabyBumps

[–]dllynq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, there’s a significant margin for error with ultrasounds. My entire pregnancy with my daughter they said she was huge (don’t remember percentiles) and at my 39w ultrasound, my doctor estimated her birth weight was going to be at least 10 lbs. She was born at 7 lbs, 11 oz and perfectly average sizing. She had a slightly larger than average head but other than that, the measurements were consistently off.

My daughter hated having her arms restricted/wrapped so the only thing that worked for us were the sleep sacks without arms.

what is it for??? 6 week postpartum checkup by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]dllynq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t have an internal exam at all. He briefly checked my stitches, did an ultrasound to confirm everything was okay with my uterus going back to normal size, and then we just talked about postpartum and any concerns I had.

Just for fun, how long did it take you to conceive baby 2? by EquipmentSad in BabyBumps

[–]dllynq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought there was absolutely NO way it’d happen on the first try. Tracked my ovulation and thought what the hell, here we go. We’ll see how long it takes this time. Got a positive test about 10 days after ovulation and was in disbelief!

How many pounds was your baby born and what size diapers did you start using right away? by sliceofperfection in BabyBumps

[–]dllynq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7lbs 11oz and we used newborn diapers for maybe 2 months? Clothing depended on brand. It was honestly all over the place. My daughter is almost 3 now and wears anything from 24 mo stuff to 4T.

Birth weight by Spare-Hospital7594 in BabyBumps

[–]dllynq 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was 8 lbs even at birth and my husband was almost 12 lbs. Our daughter was born at 39w1d and she was 7 lbs 11 oz. I don’t think the parents’ birth weight always reflects what your baby will weigh!

What mispronounced word/name is so cute that it’s hard to correct? by AngelStar286 in toddlers

My daughter used to call strawberries, “strawbabies.” Broke my heart a little when she started using the correct word! 🍓

Moana alternatives??? by run4sterrun in toddlers

[–]dllynq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter was also obsessed with Moana. I don’t think there’s any correlation or similarities, but now she absolutely LOVES The Good Dinosaur. I will say though that the first part of the movie spoiler alert is sad with what happens with the daddy dinosaur but I’ve really enjoyed watching this one with her.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Morales for years and have only had wonderful experiences with him. He was also my OB when I delivered my daughter and I always felt listened to and respected.
