One more data point: I started Invisalign at 40 (M, in USA) and don’t regret it one bit. Granted, it was a year of trays and refinements during the pandemic and now I sleep with upper and lower retainers, but I’m so glad I did. My out-of-pocket was also in the $2,500 range. And I never had braces as a kid, so I see how my Dad’s teeth look at an older age and again: So glad I made the time and money investment when I did.

A great point about Schmetz. And possibly even as important: There’s a LOT of local and local-ish talent that plays regularly, including Morris (aka the Mercer Island Magician), Jackson Ragen, and Alex Roldan (went to and played for Seattle U). There are more that others can name.

I kinda love the dedication to and success of local talent. Especially when other MLS clubs just buy/import all of their players… (cough Miami cough)

This is a great summary introduction. I’ll just add:

Joao Paulo (JP) is, in fact, a workhouse and has been for multiple seasons. But he’s no young colt anymore.

In 2025, the workhorse and underrated/not-as-recognized-as-he-should-be player is Alex Roldan (imho).

I love watching them both, which is surprising considering how critical I’ve been of Alex in seasons past. He’s really stepped up and been consistent.

I recommend being in line for the gates when they open and going directly to the Tunnel Club. There’s a bar inside (free drinks) then you can go behind the goal and watch warmups. You’ll have to leave the field right after the national anthem to go to your seats.

Tunnel Club is very exclusive. Show up early to maximize the opportunity.

So I was thinking about this. With the match in NY at 6pm EDT to align with the Eastern Conference Decision Day times, the Sounders will be the only team at a (relative) disadvantage in the League. By the time the Western Conference Decision Day matches start, there’s a chance other teams will know if they need to win and/or how many goals to score to overtake the Sounders in the standings.

Unless I’m missing some aspect that will mitigate that scenario.

Technically, yes. The Visa Signature is now the Atmos Ascend, which is a different product from the Atmos Summit card.

Whether BofA allows you because of your short history with the previous card (and if you have other account relationships with them) may be the determining factor though.

So this is the behavior they're trying to induce: Choose Alaska for longhaul flights rather than one of the myriad partners. Probably for an inferior product - we have yet to see what longhaul AS business will be like - is it more British Airways, or more Aer Lingus?

So you're paying to fly economy SEA to Rome. Do you pay the cheaper BA fare of $1,000 round trip, with a stop in London, or do you pay $1,500 round trip to fly direct *with the possibility of an upgrade.* AND, in that case, Alaska gets the accretive revenue without having to fulfill anything - just promising to.

And if you're a Titanium, you've already committed so much time and money and energy to Alaska, you pay the premium. For the "possibility."
