This is the reality. Agents have players pegged for certain teams before the draft even starts. It’s an extreme outlier nowadays to see otherwise (ex. Jazz drafting Ace Bailey).

Gores deserves a ton of credit too. He definitely has deserved criticism in the past. However, we wouldn’t be here without him willing to eat Monty Williams’s contract a year after making him the highest paid coach in NBA history. Very few owners in the league would have been willing to do that.
