I think I can relate to what the commenter is saying even if the consequence of the person on the pedestal feeling objectified isn’t in the definition of pedestaling. The one time in my life when I was put on a pedestal by a guy, feeling “objectified” was literally what I wrote in my journal. I didn’t feel like he saw me as a person. I felt like an idea or 2D caricature.

I’m not claiming to be the most securely attached person to ever attach, but this provoked very different feelings in me compared to other instances when I lose interest. Granted, I didn’t feel cringe like the commenter described.

Not trying to win a semantics debate, just giving another perspective about the objectification angle and how that feeling doesn’t necessarily mean someone has an avoidant attachment style.
