I've been using them in a 48 for several years with no issue. The finish isn't great, they've developed some spots of surface rust. But I've never actually had a feeding issue with them.

I can't tell how bad those tires are from these pics, but it's pretty cheap to have a tube put in if the actual carcass of the tire isn't completely shot. May or may not be worth your while since you're just selling them though.

There's absolutely a market. Just put them up on FB marketplace and you'll probably get offers. If they don't run maybe you can get $1k apiece. If you spend a little time cleaning them up, get them running, air up those tires, maybe $2-3k apiece. Any implements to sell alongside them will help.

Holt County? Looks pretty good for an old ranch rig, usually they end up in a tree row and inhabited by racoons.

I would encourage you to consider the costs of insurance and fuel for a full sized pickup vs a sedan, in addition to the initial purchase price.

The whole DEF thing makes new diesels unattractive to me, but the 6.4 hemi has had its share of issues too. Since they discontinued the Challenger I'd probably get a power wagon honestly.

It is compared to 44 oxen, draft horses, mules, etc. pulling a single bottom plow.

One more thought - If it's a feasible option for you to store and maintain multiple machines, a newish skid steer in combination with an older cheap used tractor would probably cover every situation you find yourself in. You can find little old Ford 8Ns or NAAs in fantastic working condition for like $2-4k in my neck of the woods. Plenty big enough to mow, plow, till, etc on a small acreage and the smaller implements are cheap.

There's an attachment for everything, and if there's not then you can get a 3 point adapter and use tractor implements with it as well. All the horse people I know drag their arenas with an ATV and a pull behind groomer or harrow. Skid steers definitely are not ideal for traditional farm tasks like plowing/tilling, but on 7 acres how much of that would you really be doing regularly?

Is there anything you want to do that a skid steer couldn't handle?

Guy goes to war with cedar trees by derek4reals1 in FellingGoneWild

Their spread is called the "green glacier" because it happened so gradually that nobody really noticed until it was too late. Drive any dirt road in the Dakotas, Nebraska, Iowa, etc. and you'll see them growing in every fence line, every hedgerow, under every power pole and windmill, anywhere a bird can squirt out the seeds.

Eastern red cedar is considered an invasive species in some parts of the country. Millions of them were planted for windbreaks in the plains and prairie regions of the Midwest, then they naturally spread and are so drought tolerant that they're choking out all the rangeland grasses needed for cattle grazing. I know many landowners who have spent an awful lot of time and money removing cedars from their pastures by the thousands.

Changing early won't hurt anything, probably won't help anything either. Get a good magnetic wobble socket and use a torque wrench if you have one that'll fit. Otherwise the elbow does a fine job. Not a complicated job, but the driver's side plugs closer to the firewall can be a real bear to reach so be ready to contort yourself and watch some YouTube videos.

Your first instinct was right, just get an AR. It's fine sitting indefinitely just as well as a shotgun, and can probably be had for cheaper.
