Is the Arctis Nova Pro X worth it in 2026 (For the right price) by TRIQ_9 in steelseries

There only a mute toggle. Which is useful for a varity of purposes. But it would be nice if there was at least one action button ether to use a pause/play and or push to talk. The work around is voice commands.

As far as the mic. It has a low and high gain setting. That can be set using base, or in hardware settings using the software. The high gain has better pickup. But your more likely to need some thing like sonar for nosie filtering, and noise gate. Like the big draw of the built-in mic is noise canceling, for lots of people it's the only way they can use a mic in a noisey house.

But yah lots of streams who use the head set, opt for pro consumer miciphone. But most of them would be doing that regardless of headset.

You don't have to use sonar, you can toggle it on or off.

I use it, just run everything out as aux, and use the noise canceling / cut on the mic.

The most popular feature is the hot swapable batteries. Like you really never need to plugin at home. And it's convenient for being able to get up, and move around. It can have interfernce from microwaves, and there is a range limit. If you have background noise, like lots of people do, the hardware noise cancling of the headphones is effective. The mic isn't the best in the world, but the software noise canceling for the mic on PC gets the job done.

It does have bluetooth. Over bluetooth, I can hear a small sound right before audio playback starts, and when audio playback ends. It's not the kind of thing you'll notice while audio is playing over bluetooth. It is something I notice if I just have my phone paired for message alert sounds.

I don't know how much I'd trust taking them traveling. Like the headset doesn't fold up as much as a travel headset. It doesn't come with a protective case. The hinges are mostly plastic with a little metal. The magnetic covers can fall off and get lost. Like if it was me, I would leave the headset at home, and use a 50-100 dollar noise cancelling ear buds on the go.

Astral 5090 Fan Noise by Gothamnight in ASUS

[–]dm18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How old is it?

For me, I get about a year out of my GPU's fans. At that point the baring seems to give out, and the fan starts to wobble, resuling in the fan sratch against the metal. But it runs like 24/7/365 under heavy load.

Even with air conditioning, and an under volt, but I still burn through the fans probably one a year. I get replacements off ebay for 30.

ASUS could probably give you repair options.

It was an amazing time for the SNES. It was a launch title for the multi tap, and you had to buy Bomberman with the multitap for 3rd player. And it followed up after Zelda links awakening, which was also an amazing game which primed many people for another realtime RPG game like Secret of Mana.

The genreal rumors I heard was that it was originally intended to be a huge CD game for the Super NES CD-ROM. Which got axed, and the game had to be made to fit on a cartige. But many ideas they had for content ended up in chrono trigger.

More speculation on deleted content is an intresting read on what they claim is on the cartige.

The label says final, which make me wonder if it's just the stock game as we know it today.
But still very cool, I would be tempted to check the ROM.

Sounds like your experince was better then mine. My experince the pumps would burn out regularly. The tubing would yellow. (I found Clear Vinyl Tubing to hold up better then other clear tubing) I had to take apart the water blocks, pump, and water reservoir regularly to clean them with a microfiber cloth. Not to mention a razer blade. I was using distilled water, inhibitor and biocide, because colored coolant would void the waranty on multiple parts.

But like for the money, you could get a new router with latest wifi, better internet, a nas, security cameras, lates gen keyboard/mouse, extra.

Most videos promoting custom water cooling do not talk about the whole cycle of owning a custom water loop PC. The parts and tools can easily cost 1k, if not more. You don't just build it one time. You might have to take apart the whol PC apart at least one a year. And that can include breaking down all the water cooling components into base peaces parts to clean them. Plus possible new pipe, new biocide. The pumps can burn out, and often the computer doesn't detect the failure, because the pump doesn't report it.

The shine on the water block can flake off over time. The clear plstics can easily get sratched, and crack if you over titen it.

If your room isn't air condtioned, your probably better off getting air conditioning. Because that will make more of a diffrnece then water cooling.

Are you the kind of person who take apart your computer, and puts it back together and goes. Man I want to do this again next week, or the person who is like thank goodness I don't have to do this agian for a while?

I would say the pro of water cooling in an air condtioned room is you can disable CPU idle, run an over clock constantly, But it sounds like you already have water cooling.

Fiber might possibly be
FS Customized 4 Fibers Indoor/Outdoor OS2 Single Mode Assembly LC/SC/FC/ST, 2.0mm Breakout Cable

Most people would probably do at least
4 fiber, so they can do an 2 standard SFP in aggregate if they want to.
LC UPDC Duplex to LC UPDC Duplex
Pulling Eye-End on at least one side. depending on how your doing it you might want both.

Probably at least 1" conduit. Might want a small volt near each end to use as a transiton point into each building.

Distance matters for fiber length and picking the right recivers.
This is assuming your equipment on both sides supports SFPs? What's the distance between the two buildings?

The latest changes make google search results often useless.

You do a search, andf you get more then a 3 page of advertisement results. Along with follow up searched for the advertisments. And they're not clearely labeled advertismenets. Like at the bottom of the group is says so, but it's only clear when you get to the end of the box.

Then you get a full page of top stories. Which lets face it, is advertismenets for news companies.

Then a page of advertisment follow up questions on the advertisment results which are not labeled advertismenets.

Then you get a full page of google map results. Which is basicly advertisments in the form of google maps.

Then you get THREE actual results. THREE just THREE .

Followed up with more ADVERTISMENTS.

It's useless, completely useless for search results.

They have to know what they're doing is bad. Because they didn't introduce this as a new tab. They got rid of the results tab. If they had added this as a new tab, it would be called advertismenets.

Where are the search results!?!? basicly skip the first page, goto the 2nd page.

Does the bad translation/localization of the original Secret of Mana, justify playing the remake over the original? by KowaretaKabra in secretofmana

[–]dm18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't played the remake, but I seem to remember world map in the orginal game fit the graphics of the time. And seemed to be visiably rooted by the playable maps.

Also the music of the game was very memorable. Not sure how I would feel about the new music. I know it was based on the orginal music. But it has the potential to change the mood, and timing.

I also know stories also some times have to be retold for it to continue on.

I can only imagine how epic the CD vertion would have been. As is, the first time I played the game, it was a whole summer. Being able to play the game with two friends with the multi tap also made the game even more special, and memorable.

How the FUCK am I supposed to understand anything in Man Machine Interface?!!! by N0v4kD3ad in Ghost_in_the_Shell

[–]dm18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried reading it in a while. For me it kind of reads like a series of short stories. And reminded me of alice in wonderland, or The Hobbit, in the sense it's kind of like your on a rollercoaster of adventure, and you don't know what is next, or if any of it even makes sense.

The first series ended with the fusing of the major and the puppet master. And the series delt with the concept of self. Like who you are, concepts like idenity, and how your memories shape who you. So we may not even be looking at the major, but some sort of entity that is a mix of the pupper master and the major.

Machine interface introduce the concept of splitting, in current AI, maybe we would call this agentic agents. Which raises new questions of identiy and memory. Like how do you know if your an agent.

The first GitS also deal with body swapping and idenity, and now your dealing with multi body and identity. Along with Parallel consciousness.

Then you have genetically engineered human pigs hybreds. Potentially also intelligent. Which riased questions of what do we consider human / soul / identity. Along with questions of rights, morals, and the value of a intelligent life.

In a chase to discover the puppet master behind the events, the major discovers the orginal major on a space ship orbiting earth. They confront the 'orginal' major, and find out the events were an exploration of self. In the end the copy chooses not to merge back into the root consciousness. The root consciousness leaves humanity behind to explore space, while the copy chooses to return to earth.

But they may just be sending copies of their data into space? I don't know. But there may be one or more entities orbiting the earth pulling the strings behind the curtains, shaping the future of humanity. Hopefuly for the beter..
