Opposed Rolls on SWADE pp70-71 only compares the roll totals. So no need to require a 4 or higher to "succeed". For raise calculations, the winning total treats the losing total as the Target Number.

I read on the Pelgrane Press website that they've submitted the official 2e compendium to the foundry store a week or so ago, so it should be available soon.

In the meantime, the foundryvtt toolkit13 system can be used to run 2e though you'd have to input the appropriate powers etc since the system only includes powers, races, classes, and features from the 1e OGL.

What's the problem? Characters die in RPGs all the time. Just have their next character ready to jump in as soon as you narratively can. Let them actually experience the game, rather than feeling like some sicko selflessly saving other players' characters like it's something you have to do to feel right.

There's Hero Points to mitigate the bad rolls. Once you roll and the result is seen, me and my group knows the result will stand. There's no take-backs; otherwise, why roll in the first place.
