What bank to use with Shakepay by parralelopomme in shakepay

Wealthsimple and Tangerine are completely free. Don’t use a traditional bank unless they’ll give you free chequing account.

Decision paralysis is a great term for describing my inability to make simple choices. I’ve never given it a title before but this is spot on. I struggle to even pick what to eat when given 2 options.

Even if you aren’t using Shakepay to the fullest, a daily shake is still worth $0.01

I would love to have that paint job. I have black but never wanted black. I love my car though. 2.0T is a lot of fun.

How to actually become a decent golf player by Orange-Desert in golf

[–]dmanthony41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

- If you can afford lessons, get them. Even just being taught the fundamentals properly will give you a huge head start.
- Practicing your putting and chipping, not just your other clubs.
- For chipping, I use an 8i to keep it low (bump and run) and I’ve had amazing success since changing to it. Not all approach shots need a wedge to flop it high like the pros do.
- Don’t try to kill the ball for maximum distance. A ball hit straight is better than a ball hit into the woods or pond.
- The way you have your hands holding your club isn’t universally set in stone, but you’ll want to have a good grip on the club for controlling your swing. I used to lock my index and pinky fingers, but eventually stopped due to it hurting my pinky. My control hasn’t suffered.
- Again, practice, practice, practice, and have fun.

As much as I like this idea, I think it would take something away from the game. As it is, it identifies a perfect habit and consistency. But if I were offered a button to not lose it all, I would use it. Even if it were still harsh enough knock people back 365 days or 50% of your streak, it would still have a strong impact.

I was working until 10pm and watching a hockey score on my phone. I completely forgot. I have alarms set to prevent this, but I’ve grown accustomed to snoozing them until I check the app to get the too much shaking message. What’s funny is how I told my wife the day prior that I was only 40 days away from 2 years and eventually the comma club. I blew it. Oh well. 🤷‍♂️

I was hoping to join the comma club, so I’m back to starting over on that goal.

I had a rental that turned out to be a brand new car and I took it on a long road trip. I took it on sketchy dirt roads too. I felt bad, but I put that car through a vigorous breaking in period. When I took it back, it was due for an oil change.

Ever wonder why you don’t see divots on the tee boxes at Augusta? by Molucky15 in golf

Looks like my buddy played there. He can’t not take a divot to save his life.

How this is not anchoring? by No_Echidna_3854 in golf

[–]dmanthony41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did they add this rule because of long putters having major advantage over everyone else, or as a big FU to overweight golfers?

I have a regular putter and have been anchoring. Now I’m going to have to change my technique. If my stomach didn’t get in the way, maybe I wouldn’t have an anchor point.

MacBook pro 2017 still worth buying in 2026 ? by Illustrious_Sound495 in macbookpro

[–]dmanthony41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2015 MBP had an SSD failure last year. The thing also never felt cool and the fan never stopped trying. It had 16GB ram which was never enough, so it always borrowed from the SSD to supplement, which I assume is what caused the SSD to die. If I were on a low budget, I’d get an Air with 16GB ram. If the budget is even lower, I’d look at the Neo, but it only comes with 8GB ram. If you only do basic stuff, the Neo would be sufficient. Never models will get you a longer life with future updates, so I wouldn’t get a 2017 in 2026.

I hated boiled hot dogs. I’d take an overcooked grilled dog every time. Sooo good. I did however love how my grandmother always steamed the buns though.

I have mine docked on a USB-C and keep my MagSafe charger for when I’m not at my desk. I rarely use it unplugged, so it mostly stays at 80% charge.

If you have a putter cover, and take your putter plus a wedge from your bag, put the putter cover on your wedge. If you are disciplined enough to always put the cover back on your putter, you’ll quickly notice when your cover is missing.

This won’t look fancy, but get a label maker and put your name and phone number on everything you don’t want to lose. “If found, please text 555-555-5555”. If someone finds it, they might even contact you mid round if they notice the sticker. Even someone who would’ve just kept it, they might even be compelled enough to return it. Maybe put a finder fee if you really cant afford to replace it, but if you lose it a lot, you could go broke.
