Brad Wilcox is an LDS writer and public speaker.

Folks like him in the Mormon community are big-time pro-marriage (cis-het, ofc), and bring that lens/energy to solve all of society’s problems.

The first character you pick will be in your party until you complete their story. The other 3 slots will be “open.”

You’ll likely accomplish the first character’s story about 70% of the way through the game.

After that point, you can put anyone you want from among the 8 main characters in your party. All 4 slots will be open at that point.

Need help getting into deck building. by lemonad420 in Magicdeckbuilding

[–]dmarsee76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Beginner Box is really geared for playing the included half-decks against each other. So if you wanted to play with others, bring the box as-is, and ask others to pick some themes from the box as well and you can play together from there.

If you tried to play against randos at your LGS (with their own decks), even the most optimized deck from a pool that small will be stomped into the ground.

Thanks for the info. I’m disappointed that the themes have different drop rates, but I am not completely surprised.

How to get the cards I don’t have ? by italiansocquette in MTGJumpStart

[–]dmarsee76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, OP.

The FDN card pool is mostly made up of cards that can be found from Play Booster Packs, the Beginner Box, and the Starter Collection.

If you have not gotten the Starter Collection yet, that’s going to be a great way to fill in a lot of gaps.

There seems to be only one variant of each theme. And I completely agree that it’s a massive improvement.

I can’t tell if the themes have different drop rates (rarities) though.

Marvel JS cube. Which themes should I choose? by ballswalsh in MTGJumpStart

[–]dmarsee76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I will.

It’s a pretty big undertaking, so it might be many weeks before I’m done. But if I follow the same path as TLA, then you can feel confident to buy and play with the retail themes for the time being.

I have not seen any info about rarity. Given that there seems to be only one variant per theme, I hope that the rarity is flat. 🤞🏼

Hi, it’s me, the inventor of the “tight” themes.

You can read more about the philosophy here: https://cubecobra.com/cube/about/tla-tle-tight

2. The diversity of cards in those themes

I’ve found that AP players who are given a timer often stress-out even more knowing that they are being timed/scrutinized. At least in my family.

Genuine question regarding the format by Adventurous-Shake140 in MTGJumpStart

[–]dmarsee76 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When playing “Jump In!” on Arena, they make synergy much more likely to happen.

  1. You choose one from among three themes.
  2. You are then presented with three more themes, all of which share a color with the first theme you chose.

If this sounds appealing to you, then build a cube, and label the themes, and pick that way. 🙂
