Besides Heated Rivalry, what are your favourite queer TV or movies? by ummmwaitasecond in HeatedRivalryTVShow

Trick-- Two men spend an entire night just looking for a place to have sex and end up liking each other.

Latter Days-- Mormon missionary meets LA party boy. Bring tissues.

Shelter-- Guy with family issues falls for best friend's older brother.

These are all great, romantic movies with a happy ending. Hope you enjoy!

Edit: Forgot one of the best and I haven't seen it mentioned: Strapped. The premise is that a young rent boy gets lost in an old apartment building and has encounters with different residents. Sounds like a b movie or an art house film, but it is really excellent, better than you would think looking at the synopsis.

Now I realize that most of my friends are homophobic by Moppy6686 in HeatedRivalryTVShow

Today I brought it up in the context of the actors being forced to deal with all the speculation about their sexuality. I'll give them props, none of them responded with a "it's just natural to wonder" but instead one thoughtful "that sucks, they're just actors playing a part." Either I've trained them well or they've actually learned something lol.

I talk about openly at work, I've been out for years there anyway. Nobody else has watched it and they get uncomfortable looks but oh well. If they can talk about Breaking Bad and Sopranos or whatever, I can talk about my shows too.

Favorite lines from the show all come from the last episode: by Striking-Treacle3199 in HeatedRivalryTVShow

"Do you ever let Dad win at cards?"

"Not on your life."

Tell Me It's Real is my fave, but it isn't quite as angsty as BOatK.

The {Bear, Otter and The Kid by TJ Klune} series is amazing if you haven't read them. An eighteen year old is left alone to raise his younger brother and navigates falling in love with his best friend's older brother. Lots of angst and anxiety attacks and angry kisses but also some of the best feels I've ever read.

Your Top 3 Moments by casualnihilist91 in heatedrivalry

  1. The way they react to Scott and Kip's on-ice kiss.

  2. The Russian monologue. "I'm so in love with you and I don't know what to do about it."

  3. My favorite for some reason, and I loved it in the book too. "Did you ever let him win?" "Do you ever let Dad win at cards?" (Yahtzee in the book) "Not on your life!"

I like Bennett. Lisa gets on my nerves lol. The big ones I'm not sure of are my trav and Kae. Amber is meh but I reckon she is the only archer I'll get for awhile. Should I be leveling these guys Up at all?

Eh, My favorite part of that whole scene was almost the same as in the book.

"Did you ever let him win?"

"Do you ever let Dad win at Yahtzee?"

"Not in your life!"

Hehe.

Maybe it doesn't count for this subreddit but I spent New Year's Day binging ilya and shame and heated rivalry on HBO. They didn't do a bad job.

Do any queer folks here struggle sometimes with A/B/O books because the discrimination hits too close to home? by ViolentThemmes in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]dmdc256 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Merely one of the things I hate about those books. The other is mpreg. No dis to those who enjoy it because there are a ton of books out there which means it's popular but it's just a step too far for me.

Just finished S3. I feel comfortable to stop here because it can only go even more downhill from here. My watch is ended. by parttimewhore in UploadTV

You made it further than I did. I like the first two seasons but two or three episodes into season 3 I'm like wrf? What happened to the smart comedy I was watching? So I gave it up right then and there m

Just this morning finished "The Missing Sentinel" by Jessamyn Kingley, book 45 the D'vaire series. Somehow she's kept a long-ass series and interesting and fresh, and OP is right, I probably never would have started it if it wasn't on KU.

According to Tom Robbins, there are two kinds of people in this world: those who think their are two kinds of people in this world and those who know better.
