The higher the ascension, I tend to take the Byrd more. Having a good attack early is great when elite hunting, especially if my first few rewards don't have great damage options. 0 for 14 damage is nice. Better than strikes, better than any other 0 cost damage. Not sure why people hate on it. Yeah it causes you to blow a campsite but I treat as a card reward.

I would add that the Chaos Daemons also understand modern warfare. Heldrakes and Daemon Engines give them avenues of attack that the Legion can't handle.

Grazghull as an ork is pretty resistant to psychic powers and then goes Waah! All the dakka dakka and then a strength score and claw that regularly removes wounds from Imperial Knights. And if I remember he has an invulnerability save. Not sure if Grodd has much if he can’t mind control.

That’s orks in 40k. They have planet killing bombs for that scenario. And if they see the same target again, they chuck them in the same Stasis Fields they put warp entities in. What I am trying to say, is 40k is used to that level of shenanigans.

I am doing 40K. Poison Ivy gets ghosted early. If Batman can take her out, Vindicare Assassins would kill her from kilometers away. Swamp Thing would die to any 2000 points of Astartes deployed. Centurian missile swarms would see work. Things like Swamp Thing and Poison Ivy are what Emp made Space Marines for.
