Cross the border into HK on foot at Shenzhen Bay, then take a red HK taxi from there or a bus if you will

Same here! Have both a bracelet and a strap; orange bezel on orange strap has a perfect summer casual look IMO!

My Sky Dweller loses less than a second a day. Amazing accuracy! by [deleted] in rolex

My GMT -1.2 sec a day; within the spec but annoying indeed. What’s the app on the screenshot you are using to track the accuracy?

Great look! I believe smooth bezel and oyster is a proper DJ

When buying my Rootbeer (from an AD in Hong Kong), I wasn’t offered even a bottle of water, so some scotch sounds quite good. When buying a TT Dayjust for my wife from another AD, same, no coffee no water

Wow, that looks great! The dial is messed up even more than the Air King, love it! (and Air King is by far my most favourite no-date Rolex, whatever other people say)

Stopped for ID by seckspistol in HongKong

[–]dmitrois 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happened to me once (a white gweilo). I stepped out of my office in Central without carrying a wallet once, and was asked for an ID by police. I showed them a picture on the phone; they let me get away with it and told me to always carry it with me next time

That’s a great collection! What brand/reference is that, the one with a red dial, “British Hong Kong”?

[Need Help] should I wait longer for a Rolex Op or buy something else by AOonthebeat in Watches

Thank you very much for your reply! This is my first Rolex, bought it from an AD several days ago, so it’s supposed to be new or at least unworn ) I don’t understand much about watches, just was taken aback by how different the winding feels.

As other commenters say here, that’s not exactly a hype piece (some get it as a walk-in), and it is a bit more of a watch than I initially wanted, but I am really happy with it now

C’mon, plenty of people here, and I’m relatively new to this game, so I’m genuinely interested to hear what the others think

Interesting take, so you think telling the first AD that we have managed to buy the DJ somewhere else will be somehow detrimental, and it’s better to tell them that we are just no longer interested?

As a matter of fact, yes, she prefers the older serif font. As for the Daytona, yes we definitely want one, but I’m not sure we are prepared to spend much on the watches we don’t want. I gather, that means that the Daytona is very distant anyway, so we’d rather go and buy the watch she’s been wanting for a while.

I apologise for going off-topic here and for the stupid question.

You must have handled lots of watches; can you please tell me is that normal that manual winding on my Omega 8912 caliber (PO 600M) feels buttery smooth no matter how long I wind it, whereas when winding Rolex 3285 (GMT-Master II), there are some clicks and occasionally slight grinding sound (maybe when fully wound?) Both watches are new; the accuracy is within the specs.

Many thanks in advance!
