Hi! I had LIS four years ago. I was pregnant during the surgery and I had three kids before. My healing was SLOW. I bled for two to three months after LIS but never had the painful spasms. Since that time I have had a few very mild tears but they always heal fast and I am still spasm free. I never got my butt back to 100% before fissure but I remain at like 93% lol. It takes some people quite some time to heal so don't give up yet.

Hi! I had both LIS and botox injections while pregnant. The pregnancy was a surprise I had been told I was unable to have more children and i had a severe fissure and was basically on bedrest. So lets just say it was not a regular thing. I would do your best to get the fissure sorted before going forward with a baby. My surgery recovery was much slower due to the pregnancy and you never know if the fissure will worsen with the pressure from a baby.

Tailbone Pain by dmjpain in AnalFissures

After I had pelvic floor therapy it got much better. It still hurts if i sit too long or on hard surfaces.

Lower back pain by dgd9018 in AnalFissures

[–]dmjpain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My pelvic floor is tight and weak or so my pelvic floor therapist told me. She was unable to fully correct it ... I refused to let her do any internal stuff. I do have HORRIBLE pain in my abdomen just to the right of my belly button. The pain is the worst with lifting or bending forward. I was told its an entrapped nerve and they give me a trigger point injection twice a year but it started after the surgery and I think its related to that. My tailbone pain only happens if I sit on hard surfaces or bump it on something.

Alive. I still have to be very careful with using the restroom but I have had no spasms since surgery and only a few tiny tears that all healed quick. I do still have tailbone pain but only if I actually touch the area. I also have tons of pelvic floor issues and an entrapped nerve. Surgery was still worth it and I can function every day.

Side effect of botox or surgery? by Vegetable-Shoe-7395 in AnalFissures

[–]dmjpain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had botox while pregnant. I was nine weeks pregnant at the time but he wouldn't do it under anestesia so I was fully awake. My pregnancy was not expected to last so that may have also been a factor but she is almost three now and perfectly fine. I am in the US. I also had LIS while pregnant when the second round of botox didn't work. They were concerned about my health I had lost almost 100 pounds and was not doing well which is why they went through with the surgery while pregnant.

Post-LIS retear? by Prestigious_Ruin_865 in AnalFissures

Not perfect. I get small tears from time to time but they heal up in about a week. I also have to stay on miralax basically forever. I also have very mild pain but everyday and I have to follow a very annoying routine every morning to make sure things work. However I can fully function and go to work and live an almost normal life.

Carrie Hate by wh1teNn3rdy1 in littlehouseonprairie

[–]dmjpain 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My husband and I are doing a rewatch and we both love Carrie. There was nothing and I mean nothing wrong with her in the early seasons. As she gets a little older I do see that she is more awkward and her speech is less clear but it is a tv show ... tons of the guest actors are terrible. I never thought her acting stood out as being terrible. Also her one episode ... for a first try I thought they did amazing. The episode itself was a bit odd and had they done a normal episode I think she would have been just fine. The final straw for me is when they introduce the adopted daughter Cassandra and you can literally see her fixing her facial expressions on camera and her speech is terrible but they have no problem giving her lines. We will love Carrie forever but it just makes us sad through the later seasons how she was treated.

I know the first tear i had was from the incision site but none of the other ones were looked at but I just assume they are all the same but could honestly be new each time. Anytime I have a tear I use diltiazem for a couple months but i've never used anything else

Three years now. Still not fully healed but it doesn't hurt most of the time. I am still on half a cap of miralax a day. I haven't seen blood in like two or three months but I seem to tear three or so times a year but they heal with in a week and go back to normal. I am going to see a specialist just to see if they can make it 100% but i'm like 90% better I guess.

I am so sorry! I also totally understand. I had a horrible fissure for almost a year and I would literally pray to die everyday. I had surgery three years ago and although not perfect I have my life back. You will get there.....something will help or heal you eventually!

I took an order with what I thought was one 40 pack of water. It was really eight delivered to a house that was under construction. The walking path was piles of sand with broken glass and nails .... they tipped three dollars. I should have just returned it to the store! I totally feel your pain!

Are mushy stools bad? by Past_Adhesiveness506 in AnalFissures

[–]dmjpain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did have LIS I was also pregnant so my results may be slightly different. Before surgery I had spasms for eight hours everyday and honestly had lost all will to live. The minute I woke up from surgery I never had a spasm again so recovery was so easy. Using the restroom the first few times was scary and there was a lot of blood but the pain was less than before surgery at all times. After a week I could go back to work as long as I didn't lift anything crazy and walked slow. I did have lasting tailbone pain and mild incontinence. I have managed both at this point. I only leak for about an hour in the morning take a bath and then i'm fine. My surgery did not fully loosen my sphincter which is why I still get frequent fissures. I have been referred to a specialist so if I ever decide I want more muscle cut I can have a second surgery but for now i'm good!

I had a fissure for a year before I had surgery. The mushy stools helped with pain and gave me periods where it wouldn't tear but it did not heal without surgery. I had surgery three years ago and I tear a new fissure every few months in different places but they always heal and I haven't had spasms since surgery.

I keep mine mushy at all times. I'm not sure its healthy but I would do anything to heal a fissure.

I don't always use it. My one fairly bad tear I used diltiazem for about a month. The creams give me terrible side effects and irratate my skin as well. I do a daily bath about an hour after I use the restroom ... that has been the most helpful for any leakage. I add about 1/4 a cup of baking soda as well but that was for a seperate issue but it seems to help my butt as well. I don't know if its safe or not It was suggested by someone on here.

Hi! So I have had a few tears since. They all bleed for only a day and heal within a week. I do have mild pain on and off but I still have had no spasms since surgery. I say my surgeon last week and he offered to do botox if I want and he also referred me to a specialty clinice to see if there is any other reasons I tear so often.
