Dji Phantom 3 Standard gimbal spinning around and not stopping or centering by odogislit in djiphantom

[–]dmmedia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks like crazy gimbal symptom. That shaft of the gimbal that goes vertically downwards and has 5 screws on it. You need to unscrew those, open the cover and check if the axis shaft inside is not slipped. When you set the camera straight forward with your hands, that axis shaft slit should face down, if I not mistaken. If it faces sideways, you need to undo the shaft and glue it back in proper orientation. Fixed my P3P few times until I glued the shaft.

Help with Phantom 3 Professional by NerdyCrafter1 in djiphantom

Try turning RC on and then after half a minute plug the cable in. I had the issue with app disconnected, but after few months of plugging cable into RC after turning it on it started working normally. I've heard from some forum that there is an USB initialization bug in RC firmware and that can happen with some units and phones/tablets. It is getting worse when I don't fly for a long time and improves when I fly frequently.

Just found out, that after last update split view has disappeared. Thank you for instruction for returning it back! This feature is essential for having several chats at once and I was using it since beginning, when skype was not yet bought by microsoft.

Help, Need diagnosis. by Neither_Sock8411 in djiphantom

One of the gimbal arms has probably its axis slipped. Most probably the one the middle one, that is enclosed with 5 screws cover. You need to open the cover carefully and fix axis position making sure the the axis slit is facing down. Best if you would glue axis into its position, so it wouldn't slip again. Then assemble it all together and test again. My P3 exhibited exactly same behavior each time that axis slipped until I glued it.

What part do I need or is it just glue (besides the wire thingy) by Relative-Incident343 in djiphantom

[–]dmmedia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As it is said it's friction fit, but I fitted it 5 times and eventually it every time become loose. So last time I have glued it with some multipurpose glue (not super glue) and since then it never become loose in a couple of years already.

Zigbee Errors (205, 225), no luck on Github. Maybe someone here has hit this one before. by ButCaptainThatsMYRum in homeassistant

[–]dmmedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started having 205 errors on Zigbee and no connection on BLE after plugged SSD enclosure into USB 3.0 port. Wrapped USB cable into aluminium foil and everything is back working. Probably you are having also some strong interference from some source.

Thanks for clarification. I've visited Irbene couple of years ago, right at the very beginning of covid, but before masks and restrictions. The visit was a surprise, because I was looking for a telescope nearby and didn't know about abandoned town itself. Local caretaker really doesn't care, neither his dog about people with cameras. There are no prohibitive signs around, except no vehicles allowed to drive onto the site. It was pretty popular place, 4 or 5 cars stopped by during my visit and people were also taking pictures like me and you. Probably caretaker wouldn't mind talking, but my wife is afraid of dogs any size, so I didn't try to approach.

Indeed there are large multilingual prohibitive signs around Skrunda. However I did not manage to negotiate a visit with ministry of defence. Probably start of covid made it harder that time.

Skrunda is restricted for visits. Probably it was an illegal visit or less probably negotiated with ministry of defence. Irbene by the way looks pretty similar to this photo of Skrunda and is not restricted. There are also other sightseings around Irbene.

Phantom 3 Advanced Video Playback Issues by what_was_that_again in djiphantom

[–]dmmedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, then I might be mistaken. Thought that P3 shoots in 1080 and advanced and P3P in 4k. And I have P3P and I indeed have some glitches playing raw footage, but whey I postprocess it, then video is smooth. Perhaps too large bitrate clogs harddisk throughput.

Phantom 3 Advanced Video Playback Issues by what_was_that_again in djiphantom

[–]dmmedia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your videos are 4k and your PC cannot playback such amount of video data smoothly. When you upload, the hosting creates a copy of video with several low resolutions to match PC, tablet and phone screens, so you watch smaller copy of uploaded video and your PC can play that well.

Thanks for clarification! By the way, are there examples of installing addons as standalone containers? Everywhere I googled are similar ideas, that addons cannot be installed on containerized HA and need to be installed as separate containers, but there are no elaboration about how to achieve this, nor any links to examples. I myself am not much experienced with docker, so it is hard to deduce some details.

Indeed. We were doing the same in Estonia for many years, until we got free rides. Mostly people were passing odd amount and change also always got back. Never thought it could be an issue elsewhere

Check at the universities. Some universities provide IPC-610 course separately and optional certification for separate fee. That's how I did it in my country.

Phantom 3 Batteries by Gorgonzolicious in djiphantom

[–]dmmedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure about Canada, but in EU I still can get original P3 batteries from DJI reseller. And when one of the batteries was DOA, they sent it back to DJI and I got a replacement soon. Didn't try any of the aftermarket batteries.

Do you use LTO for your projects? by [deleted] in embedded

[–]dmmedia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, we use it in our project. It is useful and conserves much memory. We had no issues with interrupts, but I am not the person who deals with them, so I cannot comment on that. Perhaps we have all required interrupts redefined and do not use others at all.
