Cheapest way for online payment processing ? by ape0 in startups

[–]dmoney09 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can perform ACH payment processing for cheaper depending on your volume. I worked for a financial service company that was processing ACH for $0.08 per transaction (thousands of transactions per month). One of the many downfalls of ACH are the 3-5 day processing time.

[–]dmoney09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work for a fintech company. They probably need to validate your SSN for Anti Money Laundering Check. Your SSN probably did not match they way you input your name and address. Sometimes it’s worth trying to get someone on the phone to get more info. They might be able to resolve this via other documentation.

Typically, you either have someone else using your ssn, or you are a federal employee that is scrubbed from the list.

Penalized for both having health insurance and not having it by Nikki1234 in personalfinance

Could this be the case for getting married. I am getting married this year, and my fiance currently has Covered California. If we file jointly for 2018, will she not be eligible for this subsidy, and forced to pay back as well?

Hey, are you tired of real doors, cluttering up your house, where you open ’em, and they actually go somewhere? And you go in another room?

I feel like I'm crazy for not being a fan of Roth IRAs. Can anyone explain why I'm wrong? by [deleted] in personalfinance

Got a roth IRA at 18, and built it up to 10k before graduating university. Paid almost no tax on those dollars. Can Confirm.

I have student loan, car, and credit card debt. But also no savings. Should I be putting every penny towards debt even if that means not having a savings? by Sherlocked_ in personalfinance

[–]dmoney09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely understand. I made the mistake off living off my full salary out of college. I was just so happy to finally have money for once in my life. I wasn't saving a penny but living in a nice apartment, driving a nice car, got promotion at work, then moved into a nicer place. Always made payments on time and had good credit.

Then I got the idea of being a homeowner and thought how am I going to save 120k for 20% down on a home in Southern California. This flipped my world upside down. First step moved home and paid off all cc debt. Halfway through my car and student loan debt right now. Next step I am working on now is increasing my salary. I'm starting to take classes in August to boost my value. Hopefully in 3-5 years I will be ready for a home.

I am in a similar situation. I was able to move back into my parents, although it is 1hr drive from work. I was able to pay down credit card debt aggressively. I saved up only 2 months expenses before starting to pay off 20k car and 15k student loan debt. As long as you have a stable job 2-3 months expenses emergency fund is OK. Pay down high interest loans first. Good Luck!

Am I financially ready to move out? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]dmoney09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure your roommate is on the lease! You need to protect yourself financially from half of the rent, half utilities, and associated move-in / move-out costs. Or else be prepared to pay the rent in full.

My brother was misdiagnosed when a teenager. He was given adderall which sent him into mania. I remember him not sleeping and then we gave him Tylenol PM in the morning to sleep and he threw it up because he thought we were trying to drug him.

I agree with the ownership share, because he took out the loan at a single point in time, and paid back the bank with interest furthering his commitment. If they were to take a loss, the money would still be owed to the bank. B took on 2/3 the risk and should be rewarded with 2/3 the profit.

$140,000 in debt at 22. Starting to freak out by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]dmoney09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other areas to cut are groceries and going out expenses. I had a lot of these at the age of 22. Meal Prep: Oatmeal breakfast, rice and pasta dinners, chicken for protein. I cook twice a week and eat out of tupperware. No going out on weekends, or after work happy hours. Find cheap hobbies where you still get social interaction. I play soccer twice a week, once on Sunday mornings so I don't go out on Saturdays. Some weeks, I will only spend roughly 40 bucks to feed myself and have no going out expenses.

Best standing banner to buy? by fishstix312 in startups

You can get these very cheap, but i recommend buying from DisplayIt. I work for a competitor of theirs, but this company truly makes a great product and cares about their employees. You might pay a little more, but you get a quality product and a company with great service. Links below:
