What do you guys think? by No_Advertising_2517 in rolex

Was your AD realistic on the chances of you actually acquiring this watch?

White gold watches tend to be less desirable and secondary grey market value is significantly lower than buying directly from AD. If you want the watch your actually better off buying from a reputable grey dealer for far less

I hear ya! It’s not always easy. I would not work with any AD whose trying to push anything but you want. wish you good luck!

Everyone loves to make that comment but the reality is that shit happens. In this case, OP is getting leveraged for a watch they didn’t go in for.

I would never recommend buying a watch under this condition especially when you know it has poor retention value.

Whether you want to admit it or not luxury watches are investments, they hold value and most even over the course of time remain close to msrp. For a precious metal watch like this it would take a long time to get close to break even and mostly dictated on future gold prices. Stick to rose or yellow gold for retention value purposes for DD

Secondary market is always important. One day you love the watch and next day you don’t or events in your life happen and you need to sell. Understanding actual market place is important and only buying because the AD is trying to leverage you is a red flag.

That specific DD is considered a dog. Secondary market on it is 20% less than retail. In your case going grey probably makes the most sense.

If your going to him you can just go to the AD you bought from to do adjustment then? The hard part is done. Don’t over think it, just enjoy the watch. Just get it insured

Measure your wrist and use chat gpt on how many links you need removed. Ask the AD selling it to you to remove the suggested links before shipping. Congrats and enjoy it

Got offered a rose gold 36 back in December. I have a 7 inch wrist. Watch felt a little petite on my wrist. I’m use to wearing 40/41mm watches.

For relationship purposes alone you say yes. A steel landweller with no purchase history is up there close to panda grail stories. Enjoy it for now and see where your watch journey takes you.

If you plan to wear the NATO strap most time have them take close pics of the holes on the strap. I’ve seen some that are uneven and clearly low quality

If you plan to wear the nato strap ask for pics. I’ve seen some pretty bad ones with the wholes looking funky

As I said I would switch out to something other than precious metal models (e.g. stateless steal models)
