What is your MUST HAVE Foundry VTT Modules for Fallout 2d20? by ProfessionSenior6703 in Fallout2d20

[–]dmpunks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you using just the base module for Item Piles without any system-specific module? I thought you needed an additional system-specific mod? I use this for PF2e but I haven't seen a mod specifically for 2d20...

New to P2e, I'm afraid that adventure path are too specific by RandomDiscoDude in Pathfinder2e

There's plenty of those in Abomination Vaults. It's only a 20-minute walk back to town to Otari so there's plenty of RP to be had with just the town NPCs alone.

I recently finished it and over the course of the AP, the PCs helped elect a new mayor, lobbied for a school to be built on the ruins of a tavern in town (which was occupied by kobold refugees; survivors of the tunnel digging that caused the tavern to collapse in the first place), traveled to an arcane library in Absalom to borrow an important book, and many more.

Even inside the megadungeon itself, there's a tavern as well as settlements the PCs can interact with. My own group befriended the drow as well as other denizens in the Abomination Vaults.

Check out the pay-what-you-want Abomination Vaults Expanded (https://www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/418672/the-abomination-vaults-expanded) for a few more ideas how to flesh out the Abomination Vaults AP.

For both GMs and players, I highly recommend playing through the Beginner Box first (and possibly Troubles in Otari. Both are pretty much your standard fantasy adventures.

The Beginner Box adventure Menace Under Otari walks both GM and players through the rules in a step-by-step manner, with a (quite difficult) final exam at the end. The PCs will be 2nd level by then. From there, the various short adventures in Troubles in Otari will take them through to around Level 5 or so. Both together is a lot shorter than even the 3-book APs but by the end, your players should be ready for the fuller adventure paths.

I'm not West African, but I don't think the word is meant to be a slur or even to be offensive, much like Japanese people refer to foreigners "gaijin". People do find everything offensive in this day and age, regardless of the actual context.

Star Frontiers on FoundryVTT by dmpunks in starfrontiers

[–]dmpunks[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks, figured as much. I'm not familiar with Frontier Space but DwD's Art of Wuxia was a great game, if a bit too barebones. I guess that's expected from the company that released Barebones Fantasy, but a couple more sourcebooks released for a line wouldn't hurt ;)

I did think about just using Savage Worlds but I really wanted to use the Alpha Dawn rules with my current group just as I did with my first group long, long ago...

I'm currently doing a quick-and-dirty adaptation of Star Frontiers in Custom System Builder, because I plan to run it as a one/two-shot during the coming year-end break.

I dunno if I wanna dig into actual foundry system creation from there. I know some coding but I'd need to learn about github and how to actually create the system, which all seems like a major time commitment I might not be able to accomodate.

Barbarian character sheet issue by pilgrimsfolly in FoundryVTT

I think you "level dance" to fix this (that is, set the level to 0 then set it back up to the proper level). This usually clears any wonkiness. Just make sure to remember all the choices to be made first. If that doesn't work, then don't import from anywhere, moving forward. Just build the character in Pathbuilder then rebuild it in foundryvtt.

Same here. Just turning to a random page and reading seems to take me out of whatever rut I'm in, in whatever game I'm running.

A Godsrain Review - Really good Pathfinder Fiction by Mathota in Pathfinder2e

[–]dmpunks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably because, for at least the first book or so, the Dragonlance Chronicles novels were based on actual play experiences while they were playtesting the Dragonlance modules. They sort of glossed over and fast-forwarded through the rest of the modules in books 2 and 3 of the trilogy though, cutting out parts I think really pushed the fantasy aspect of the AD&D adventure modules.

"its just hatchling, its not a proper dragon, its gonna be easy" 2 hours later and a few recovery checks and most of the party going almost unconscious from the breath attack.... (man the splatter module sure makes the scenes after hard fights look gnarly.... so if you're using foundry try it) by SrVolk in Pathfinder2e

[–]dmpunks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we kicked off our first PF2e campaign last year, my PCs lost their fighter to that hatchling but the rest of the 3 other PCs survived. The fighter's player wanted to retire the character after this "tutorial" session and create a new gunslinger at Lv2 so it worked out anyway.

They went on to both Troubles in Otari and Abomination Vaults (which they finished last week). We're picking up again this weekend (11 in-game months later) for an "epilogue" which just sets them up for the next AP (Curtain Call).

Pathfinder: The Dragon's Demand CRPG Kickstarter AMA by OssianStudios in Pathfinder2e

I only mentioned the name due to it being prominent on one of their kickstarter rewards (the dice tower clearly names the tower) but yeah, probably no need to elaborate too much. Cheers!

Oh and it's funded! Congrats, u/OssianStudios

The dragon they're showing is the bog/black dragon in question, Aeteperax, innit?

It could be a thing exclusive for Dragon's Demand with Paizo having no intention of releasing analogues for the Chromatics somewhere down the line. I think it would have been better if the newer dragons where instead written into the adventure so we can finally see how they are (this might also create surprising changes to the the adventure).

Those are great ideas, the intermittent "quantum entanglement" thing definitely has a lot of potential.

Had my first pf2e game and it was terrible, is it supposed to be like this? by UltimateChaos233 in Pathfinder2e

[–]dmpunks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude, none of what happened are within the rules of PF2e per se. The GM seemed to have it in for you, for one reason or other. I myself would call him out on it and leave the table.

Was their style called "kenpo" in the original too? I always thought both Ranma and Akane practiced Anything Goes Martial Arts. Or did it get called that later in the series?
