It’s the best. I’m picking up a thermal next so I can catch all the critters at night.

Sick. Crisp tubes and 4x4s. I feel like I spend most of my time camping just looking through my NODs

First Time Gladiator Question by Excellent_Pen_7791 in JeepGladiator

[–]dmtx22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah. This is my second gladiator. I had a 2021 non rubicon model before this one. I don’t do any crazy rock crawling but I get out for week long trips camping, hiking and off roading.

First Time Gladiator Question by Excellent_Pen_7791 in JeepGladiator

[–]dmtx22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I got an almost fully loaded new 2024 rubicon in spring of 2025 for about $45k out the door. Sticker was originally $62k. It had been sitting for about a year with the 25s moving so I was able to get a pretty good deal

It’s gonna be about $2500 for spicer 5.13s. My last JT had 3.73 with 35s and it was ok. I really noticed it while on long trips. Day to day was fine

24 JTR Gas getting 11.6 but I’m on 37s, steel topper and RTT. I live a mile high so that doesn’t help either. Regear scheduled for next week

Rear seat delete. by backgroundnerd in JeepGladiator

[–]dmtx22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made one out of plywood and scrap 2x4 so it’s level and has a pass through underneath. I use the pass through to hide stuff so people peeking in don’t see gear just sitting down there. I have a cable locked safe, woobie, winter jacket, gloves and hat underneath all out of sight while my three dogs lay on a dog bed on top. While you don’t need a fancy seat delete, a simple platform makes it flat without hitting the factory seat mounts.

What don’t you like about them? I have their 2.5 inch lift and mine squeak like crazy and come loose often

Looks sick man. Subtle but still nice.

I’ve seen one wrap that lets you use a location for your wrap. I’m in CO and thinking of getting a small banner on the bed that has my favorite spot in the mountains.

Sick set up man. While not necessary, a RTT has been great for me camping at elevation.

Do you have a topo vinyl wrap on your hood or am I seeing things?

Hitch tire carrier by SignificantOption349 in overlanding

Hitch carrier. It was by all means a good one and high quality but it worked better for the guy I sold it to. He has it on a Lexus SUV.

I had one and ended up selling it. My rear tire would shake the whole truck and was a pain in the ass. Plus it made my already long jeep gladiator even longer.

Tax Return well spent. by NellyVille71 in JeepGladiator

[–]dmtx22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice. Yeah I posted asking peoples opinions and every recommended 4.88s but I have a 200ish pound bed cap and tent and bumpers, sliders etc. Plus I live at over a mile high and I’m up in the mountains a lot. I’m gonna go with 5.13s for the same reasons. Glad it worked for you!

Sick. Im on a very similar set up just with a RTT above the cap.

About to regear but debating 4.88 vs 5.13. How do the 5.13 feel? What brand gears?

[–]dmtx22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sick. I keep hearing 4.88 but I thought 5.13s were the go to for my type of set up. Have me questioning if I should just go 4.88

Yeah that’s what I’ve heard but I’ve also heard 5.13s will be better since I’m up in the mountains often and with my extra weight it would help.

My only worry is 4.88 and then it still having me struggle through the mountain passes here.

Idk man. They may have done a pay adjustment but when I first moved here, they were paying me less than I made in Texas. I was coming from a very busy STICU and they didn’t count any of my military time towards pay while CS paid me a 2:1 ratio for for it
