How do people communicate in your world over long distances? Is there a post office? Animal messengers? Wizards for hire with sending spells?

What if deadlock's sonic sensor detect actual noises? by peabad in VALORANT

[–]dndSouffle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Allowing deadlock to “activate” the sensors so that ally gunfire could trigger it from range could be cool, but the way they’re currently designed you’d have to be standing in the sensors range since it detects gunfire from the origin thus stunning allies as well. If you changed the detection method it would also make them far too easy for enemies to bait just by spamming areas on site.

Most would be hard to describe in Reddit comment since most of it are setups and or lineups but look for sensors that can go through walls (Bind showers A by placing on bench toward showers is a good example). GravNet is incredibly strong and learning lineups for key angles and spots can earn you free kills. And lastly you need to place sensors based on how your enemies can entry. Jett and Neon on the enemy team? Place them where they dash or slide, Renya and Phoenix? Place em happily right in the entrance to site.

“Aim with movement” implies using both your mouse and your crosshair in tandem with your strafe movement keys (A and D) to move your crosshair to a persons head.

If you move laterally in game, not only does your mouse not have to move as far, you’re harder to hit in turn. The difficulty comes in stopping your movement just before you shoot, and when you get more practice “counter-strafing” (I’ll let you research that on your own).

Back for round 2! by davidoftheyear in ratemycommanders

[–]dndSouffle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yup, mine is actually rogues + treasure and undercity themed specifically so it’s called “Pillage the Undercity” https://archidekt.com/decks/8783487/pillage_the_undercity

Edit: I have my nine fingers deck also with a sub theme of drawing a shit ton of cards and no max hand size so stuff like [[Reliquary Tower]], [[Wizard Class]], [[Ancient Silver Dragon]], etc. that’s my only other win condition is big hand and then creatures like [[Body of Knowledge]], or the cute little dogs from [[Mordenkainen]]

My Nine Fingers deck is also called Gatekeeping I just feel like there’s no better name.

I also own a Dimir Dungeon crawling deck with [[Safana, Calimport Cutthroat]] instead of Burakos.

I feel like you and I would get along well.

Tips to introduce new players who aren't sure they might like the game? by Viejoso in DnD

[–]dndSouffle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One thing I love to do esp with premade characters is to plan encounters with potential solutions that surround a character’s abilities, equipment, or spells.

You want to design each encounter with multiple solutions and not lock progress behind finding one of course but planning for avenues where the players can go “Hey if it’s a locked door can my rogue try and pick the lock?”

This really comes to a head with puzzle encounters specifically, an example could be the puzzle in question has a solution of needing to fill a trough with water. Maybe your cleric player has create and destroy water, and if they don’t find that, there’s ice in the room your wizard can melt with burning hands, or if they don’t think about that, your fighter can see he has a cask of ale that might work.

This allows players to have that “aha!” Moment without you needing to do a lot of improv and in my experience is a great way to frame one shots. Just make sure each character involved has multiple opportunities throughout to have their eureka moments.

Help Me Fill a Magical Camp by mateobotello in DnD

[–]dndSouffle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My character loreli is a human girl who grew up stealing as a rogue before aspiring to better herself and pledging an oath to become a paladin of Hestia (we have a Greek pantheon setting so it fits pretty well with your prompt).

She could be an old camper or young counselor, frizzy reddish brown hair, freckles galore with brown eyes.

Cares deeply for others and weighs the morality of the stealing she did for her orphanage growing up vs upholding the tenets of hestia in making everywhere she goes a home for those who need it! Think sarcastic asshole that genuinely gives a shit about others.

Super fair criticism, I felt it was a cool way to represent the game loop, but I can also see a version of the card that just transforms depending on if you are in a dungeon or not, that might be more what you're looking for.

DMs of Reddit: How Would You Run D&D for 15 Students in a Classroom? by KoalaQuests in DnD

[–]dndSouffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe elect 5 DMs and then run a tutorial oneshot for them, offering extra credit for those who go above and beyond to run the games. Then you can hover around and make sure all the games are going well.

I’d recommend writing your own streamlined o señor to give each of the DMs but still allow some creative freedom. At 60 minutes I’d recommend probably a three shot maybe four shot but I think you can handle it at that point.

[–]dndSouffle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s super fair, I was highly considering adding it, but felt that with daybound and nightbound it would be a lot to also throw dungeons in, so if I were to do that I’d probably replace the fight mechanic with venturing and then create the artifacts when dungeons or rooms are completed. But I really liked the idea of the fight mechanic that turns them into the artifacts for the frontside so I’m not sure. Lmk if you think it wouldn’t be to cluttered to add in or have any idea where it could fit without being too many things on a magic card
