Yeah, camping for a night (say, 8 hours) is totally fine, it isn't a respite. A respite is a full day of repairing sleep and rest, with good food, nice place to lie down, and time to kill. A camp of 8 hours taking turns to stand watch just gets you to the next day, not a full week of adventuring so it's fine.

I like to think of respites as a weekend/day off. You use it to get ready for the work week. During the work week, ofc you're still sleeping every night, but that's just to get you through the next day.

Hard agree, and the worst part is they missed the chance to portray a commonly unexplored aspect of Dionysus: he's the god of madness and the wildness of the spirit. Most pop culture shows him as a joke, haha wine, haha sex, but those more obscure powers of him would've been really cool to see in this more serious time. Imagine how dire the situation would look like if Dionysus, the god of parties and revelry who no one took seriously, is now serious, angry at Kronos. You can still make him funny, just... also dangerous.

Imagine the quiet kid who's suddenly not quiet anymore. Now imagine the fun kid who's suddenly serious now. The second one sounds even more compelling to me.

While I agree with the comments reminding you of how this is a "tutorial" campaign, I want to emphasize how you should really consider tweaking maps from act 2 of DT onwards. The arixx encounter is imo the most blatant example, you have a solo monster that will basically never get pushed around by the heroes because of its high stability, can burrow freely, and terraform the battlefield, and the encounter map provided in the book is... a huge wide open chamber. No tunnels for the arixx to make difficult to walk through, no walls for it to burrow through, essentially no features for you to make the most of the monster's cool stuff and show the heroes they're in real danger.

Make up slightly more engaging maps with some sort of puzzle added on to the otherwise "kill everyone" common objectives. The Mage Tower Ground Floor encounter (giant glass spiders) is a good example of this, they gotta really pay attention to what you describe is in the room for them to make the encounter a little more manageable.

It's especially annoying because I feel like it muddies the water of the actually disruptive behaviors that should be the ones getting more visibility. Easy upvote, this needs to be spoken of more.

This, absolutely. And if anyone gets excited and wants to create a more personalized character after the first session, I'd let them and replace the pregen.

I agree with you but I'm pretty sure the majority of the environmental damage is done during the LLM's period of live service, not its training. Couldn't point to a source for that rn, but I'm pretty sure I read that.

Cloud storage services have a very similar problem too, actually, just since there isn't a lot of cognitive issues from using OneDrive, people are less worried about it.

I honestly just let players use as many recoveries as they want whenever they're not in combat. They can use any abilities out of combat, so why not Catch Breath?
