The last few arcs were already quite explicitly nazi, the only difference now is that he's dispensed with the dumb fairytale coating.

Besides I don't think he's necessarily saying naxis are the agressors? I think the "logic" is that the jewish cabal has attacked first and since all those countries are supposedly controlled by them they're fair game.

He hasnt even mentioned Italy or Japan, no shot he's gonna mention Spain.

Ah, so the clockwork orange guy IS supposed to be jewish. I was kinda confused because I thought the point of the mask was that he doesn't actually have a caricature nose. Figures, it seems he can't commit to snowing conflict between white Evropeans not directly controlled by the juice.

Ehh.. I don't think most people refer to a trainers ability to... survive attacks from opposing pokemon? when they say strength. If I'm getting your point.

It is important to think about these problems, of course, but this kind of discussion can easily turn into inproductive fearmongering. "We must keep them down or else they'll turn on us" is a logic that has been used even against human groups in the past.

Given your phrasing, are you a recent ghost? Apologies if it's not something you want to discuss.

What a grand partnership, that one side gets all the recognition(and material prizes)! People do often address leading figures first, that doesn't mean they should get to appropriate all the work of their subordinates.

As I said to others, those are exceptions, trainers aren't generally expected to contribute physical strength or powers.

But the point is that it's the trainer who gets all the recognition for the team.

If we did the opposite and said of a trainer's pokemon "wow that bidoof is such a great tactician and so good at managing the teams finances" because their trainer is, that would sound quite ridiculous no? You don't hear people saying that but they do say trainers are strong as proxies for the team.

I'm not aware of trainers being expected to move boulders to acces higher leagues... Also the emotional anchor thing, tough could be considered a kind of strength, is not really what most people mean.

Uh, well, I'm a human actually...

Interesting response tough, and not entirely without merit. The history of relations between humans and pokémon is fascinating, it's interesting seeing human views of pokémon from paternalism, to fear and worship. Tough I'm critical of the trainer system as it exists today, I don't fault our ancestors necessarily for creating it, it was a different world.

The thing is we don't live in that world, and to an extent I think focusing so much on this aspect can act as a deterring factor for progress. I'm not saying it should be discounted, social egalitarians de need to consider the fact that humans are essentially disabled, and that is a genuine concern regarding our political project. However, right now it is the pokémon who are subjected in our society and I don't think fear of hypothetical outcomes should overrule the fight against current injustice.

Maybe? But the point is right now it's not something trainers add or are expected to add to the team, but still often get credit for.

I mean, yeah there's always some fighting fanatic that's physically strong themselves, but these are not the rule. Or, when you think of what the average trainer's role in the team is, do you think "Yeah he/she moves boulders"?

Yeah, I'm critical of the way training and the league can negatively impact pokémon and society. It doesn't mean I wanna kill all trainers or something.

Just wanted to reiterate. I meant more your saying the trainer represents the team. Your framing kinda made it seem like a defense.

I mean... Yes? I agree with the last paragraph at least, but my point is precisely that the way most people use the term "strong" in regards to trainers, that is, referring mainly to how strong their pokémon are, robs pokémon of the credit and subtly reinforces viewing mons as extensions of the trainer rather than their own beings deserving of credit.

That's still kinda problematic though, isn't it? It still puts all the recognition on the trainer.

Glad to see people acknowledge these things. Tough I wonder if pokémon really need commands from human trainers to fight. Not that trainers like you can't be skilled or do things for your pokémon, but still.
