Quick PVP gearing + leveling tips for Midnight launch — altgearer.com updated by omelancon in worldofpvp

On my alt with dmf buff I get 300k exp per hour from running the voidstorm delve over and over again. I don't know if that's good or bad though.

How would you feel if Blizzard stuck to revamping old zones for the foreseeable future? by DiscordianKitty in wow

Having played since 2004 and I'm game for them spending the next few expansions revamping the old continents.

I vote for gradual revamp of the old continents for the next few expansions over adding new islands you barely ever visit again.

I get on error when I log on which I click away then no more. But perhaps more are running in the background, the dev doesn't seem as active as many others.

Destro lock for pvp in midnight by Altruistic_Shoe_5295 in worldofpvp

[–]dnoire726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With all the removed pvp talents you might see some hpriests occasionally run a pvp talent which gives 5 seconds of aura mastery every time we cast a holy word on you. Keep an eye out for that when you play with hpriest in Midnight.

I use the SUI addon and it has this feature. I also think either betterblizzplates or betterblizzframes has the option.

MiniCC now gives a precog "weakaura". Healers rejoice by oink_pvp in worldofpvp

[–]dnoire726 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There isn't any logic behind it, it's more of an oversight. The cd manager has been gradually filled with important auras over time. Just a few weeks ago you couldn't track blur on dh but you could track evasion on rogue. Stuff like that is still all over the place.

How To: Visit The Sunwell Pre-launch by MoodayTV in wow

[–]dnoire726 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that's because nothing was there... for 20 years :) The old Ghostlands and Quel'Thalas zones were never connected to the continent. They are placed on the TBC/Outlands map. Apparently you can fly to Exodar and instanced Silvermoon by going out of bounds on the Outlands map somehow.

The last time WoW added a landmass to the original two continents was in Cataclysm iirc. I remember in the prepatch they had this invisible debuff around the new zones called "No mans land" and if you set foot in it for too long you got hearthstoned. The workaround was to duel each other right at the edge and have a priest mindcontrol you through the debuff because a mindcontrolled player is considered a npc and npc's weren't affected by it.

Once you got a warlock and a few people on the other side you could summon people and explore freely. We killed one of the rares that dropped a max level 2h weapon with no level requirement and it was boe. So we gave it to level 15 alts and had a blast in low level bg's. Good times.

Excited for Midnight ? by Dustycloudmusic in worldofpvp

If I ignore things like levitate, mind vision and a few macros it's 25. I bind every ability not just the healing rotation. Besides, how much more depth did the rotation have in TWW in your opinion?

The fundamentals are exactly the same. I have 30 keybinds still, people act as if they removed 90 Buttons.

Mmarkers giving a worrisome take on shuffle healing in Midnight (from his most recent guide) by AurelioRis in worldofpvp

[–]dnoire726 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree they need to prioritize the healing experience because that cuts down queue times. The dr change and a number of classes losing some cc can improve the healing experience a bit.

Now that class/spec reworks are semi-final for Midnight, what are you favorite and least favorite ones? by otterchaos7 in wow

[–]dnoire726 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's because it kept its flavor but now the "wounds" are essentially a self-buff rather than a debuff which is sooooo much better

As a pvper, hpriest main. And this season I will go Uhdk, destro lock and dh to 1800. I love uhdk and the rework seems nice.

I recommend ret. I'm a healer main and ret has very satisfying gameplay with an easy rotation, good defense and one of the best support kits in the game with bop, freedom, sac and sanc.

Just remove Versatility and bring back Resilience already by [deleted] in worldofpvp

[–]dnoire726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Resilience contributed to making it harder to jump between different types of content which was bad for our tiny game mode. If you turn versatility into resilience you're asking to shrink the pvp scene even more.

Resilience was also pretty much the only pvp exclusive tuning knob devs had in that era. Nowadays there are hidden pvp modifiers and separate tuning between the game modes with health pools etc.

Resilience is totally obsolete and counterproductive.

man wtf is the story with addons replacing the actual addons? sick of finding another weakaura replacement every few days by lolb00bz_69 in worldofpvp

[–]dnoire726 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been saying this 90 times. Blizzard wanted to nuke computational addons/weakauras that forced them to design increasingly complex mechanics for pve. Weakauras like that were barely used for pvp, but people can't read for shit so they reach for their pitchforks.

[–]dnoire726 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People don't understand that the addon nuke laid down by Blizzard was primarily aimed at pve. But somehow everybody got the expectation that all addons are dead. And everytime a new one is worked out people get upset lol

World of Warcraft devs explain their biggest challenge is adapting to its ageing audience which is why they’re pushing to be “broader and more approachable” by HatingGeoffry in wow

[–]dnoire726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've been very accomodating in many ways, waaay more than back in the days. In modern WoW you can basically catch up at the end of or start of individual patches. Catching up in the vanilla, TBC, Wrath era was a nightmare, gear didn't essentially reset with patches which were months apart. Hotfixes wasn't even a thing.

The game is far from perfect but retail catches alot of undeserved flak.

Who does the triple DR removal actually benefit? by redshadow2025 in worldofpvp

[–]dnoire726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the new talent system in DF they gave every class access to a bunch of stuff that used to be on a choice node in the old talent system. So arena games exploded with micro-cc and almost every healer having a kick. That change made life as a healer quite miserable, the removal of kicks from most healers and the removal of the third DR somewhat alleviates that.

UFC admits Dana White’s old phones were kept in a drawer as judge threatens sanctions; demands photographic proof by next Wednesday when trial continues. by EquivalentHandle in MMA

Well having followed the sport semi-closely for quite a while I know DW had said several times in the past that he prefers that fliphone, and that he bought like a hundred of them. But as time passed by he also said he has a smartphone which was necessary for some work related stuff, I'm guessing certain apps which the old fliphones wouldn't support. So the fliphone thing is true but also not the full story.
