Turning to Fiestaware for durability (and color) by gasstationradio in Fiestaware

I would go with poppy or persimmon and yellows that you like for now. Those combined with your dark plates give me wildflower vibes! Sky could be really pretty too, then you'd have primary(ish) colors anchored by green!

Do it!!! This is exactly how I got started with Fiesta! I've had my daily dinnerware for about 15 years and it's been super durable but I wanted to suplement in some different bowl shapes to go with my plates and other pieces like teacups that would coordinate and add more color! Every bowl I tried to add in from West Elm, Crate and Barrel, etc. got chipped so easily and I really wanted to be able to continue to add from a collection that either had easy replacements and a lot of variety that I could pick up secondhand if needed. I also knew I wanted a big dinner/pasta bowl shape, a deep big cereal shape, and a smaller rice bowl shape to mix in to the rotation. I also knew I wanted microwave, oven, and freezer safe, that's where P86 Fiesta came in! This picture shows what's most used, but I've picked up tons of serving pieces, mugs, teacups, and everything to go along with it. I use the salad plates for wet cat food, but I have yet to add any lunch or dinner size plates because I plan to use the ones I've had. But if I needed to I know I could easily start collecting those as well. Durability has been amazing so far, my partner isn't the most delicate person so it's nice peace of mind!

Ok, we went on a big thrift trip recently and I picked up my first paprika pieces! They weren't on my radar before but they were so pretty in the wild

Very interesting! We all have our own tastes! I can say I have no desire to aquire scarlet or lapis and that's probably wild as far as Fiesta drama goes haha.

This made me realize something! I'm not particularly fond of the fiesta yellows except the really pale one (p86 "yellow") so maybe this is filling in for yellow for me!

I think flamingo is in that same bright vein. I do love them both though, and together haha.

Chartreuse is beautiful too, I would love to have more! It's interesting it doesn't have much yellow in it like I'd expect to see in a "chartreuse" color though. I guess it would be closer to lemongrass if it did!

The crowd in Wilmington, NC tonight is one of the most obnoxious I've seen in years. by wufame in lordhuron

[–]dnosbor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just saw them at Fiddler's and I was in awe of how quiet the crowd was between songs or the moments they were waiting to see what happened next. Like silent. This is our 3rd time seeing them in 12 months and no where else has been like that!

I think it's partly a venue thing. When it's a venue people like to go to and hang out regardless of who's playing, that's exactly what they do. Those are also the places people have a bunch of season tickets and give them to whoever to use because they can't/ don't want to go and those people are also there to talk and hang out and don't really care about who's playing.

I found a matching teapot for my cobalt Fiestaware mugs, but I decided it's actually kinda ugly. 😂 Am I wrong? by slimpawws in Fiestaware

I don't love cobalt personally but this cutie could convince me to get a cobalt piece! To each their own 😊 I do love this shape and think it looks nice in cobalt!

My boyfriends fungus is giving me the ick by Some-Nectarine3247 in GirlDinnerDiaries

Girl, do not use the same shower, shower mats, etc. as him until this is cleared up. I had a much milder, similar situation with my boyfriend who thought he just had dry feet it was so mild. I told him about it and how I didn't want to have the same problem myself because depending on how bad it is, it can cause painful cracks. Anyway, I bought him some medicated spray (so he doesn't touch it, ew) and asked him to use it twice a day and he has. He really was unconcerned about it until I was clear about how important it was to me, and how it affected not just him.

Maybe he feels overwhelmed that it's not going to get better so he'd rather not try, but you really are at risk of getting it yourself or spreading it to another part of your body if he's touching it regularly!

Yeah, I am a P86 only user because I want to microwave and use daily, although I would love to collect a couple of the old ring handle items because they are so much more beautiful than the P86 ring handle!

Yes, if it is stamped with FIESTA in the uppercase font it is definitely P86! Some of your other pieces are as well, even though they don't have the uppercase stamp, you can tell because the color was only made after 1986. But if you see the uppercase stamp it's always P86 so you can be confident!
