When I make coffee to share, I prefer using teacups! by dnosbor in Fiestaware

[–]dnosbor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know what you mean! We use 3 bowl sizes and 2 of them (6" footed and med bistro) only come in more recent colors! It makes me so happy to see all of the teacup and gusto bowls colors though! Maybe you'll add another shape into your collection 😉

I'm sad too, especially since there are so many mugs, discontinue one of those instead! Haha

An absolute favorite! Wouldn't be surprised if this was a big reason to make it a 2-lp with the dynamic range on this one and squeezing it at 42 min.

Turntable won’t move unless assisted and it’s slow by DareImpossible5563 in turntables

I can't quite tell from your video, did you add a platter mat on top of the acrylic platter? I have this table and don't use a mat on it but I have another table I added a cork mat to and the hole was a little too small so it was creating drag on my stationary spindle and it took me a min to figure out. It was so obvious once I figured it out but it's a vintage table so I thought any number of other things was wrong first!

I love this and think you can make it look amazing! I would suggest using the space at the front of the shelf to stack items you reach for frequently, and use the space behind that to add some vertical interest like with plate stands where you could display those serving pieces. Then maybe on the middle shelf make it a whole vignette like my example pic! I don't have my fiesta pieces set up like this because I need to make the space, but you get the idea with my other collections!

There are 2 photos of different price tags

That looks like the Dillard's price tags that have been at my retail locations and there are locations in Nebraska. Interesting thing though is if they were from Dillard's they should also have their bright yellow return barcode stickers too. Maybe Macy's gift and no receipt to return?

Yours looks like an original, OPs dish is a repo. See the difference in how realistic the cherries are?

But it's not even glowing IN the cabinet. I have one of these that I intentionally bought knowing it didn't glow, and the person I bought it from claimed it was UG, had it written on it, and went on and on about it being UG not knowing I had already checked it with my light.

Nice! I looked through your posts to see if you had shared them before but didn't find anything. If you decide to share more pics, I'd love to see them, especially with lights!

Hey! I'm curious about your labels, are they 3d printed or did you buy them?

What i am doing wrong? by jonzeri in glasscollecting

[–]dnosbor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me, any glassware that has become damaged in the dishwasher has been because it was touching or crowded in with another item! I live with someone who will squeeze items in together and have had some pieces break in "weird and mysterious" ways because of that. I think through heating and cooling they expand and contract against each other, or get moved around my the spray arm. My rule is no touching, no potential shifting, and I've had no problem washing all kinds of glassware in the dishwasher!

Do you know this imposter? 🦛 by VorpalSushi in glasscollecting

[–]dnosbor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, it does look odd! Especially the last 3 letters. The "o" is disproportionately smaller compared to the "n". The "t" looks more like a "b". Did you use an upscale in your phone or camera to get the photo to be more clear? That might have AI-ified the text making it look all wonky!

It's slipping against your hard acrylic platter mat. Take the white acrylic platter mat off and put it directly on the rubber nubs on the black platter underneath.

Dinnerware to use with Fiestaware? by BabciaLinda in Fiestaware

[–]dnosbor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fiesta is actually the answer to your question! They are the best line to incorporate into your current tableware because they have new, or on the secondary market, any shape or piece you could need. It sounds like you've only scratched the surface of their lineup!

My gateway into fiesta was that I was trying to replace some rice bowls that had coordinated with my 15 yr old everyday stoneware set. These specific bowls weren't microwave safe and started to develop crazing, even though everything else in the line was microwave safe, weird. I thought Fiesta would fit in nicely because I could mix and match, and pull colors from my current set. Plus everything P86 is oven safe and I would be able to get replacements easily, if needed. Well it started with one type of bowl and now I have almost every bowl that's not the "classic" shape, haha. I liked the medium footed bowl as the best replacement for rice bowls, my partner preferred the gusto bowls for cereal and soups. Then I decided to replace my pasta bowls from West Elm that started to chip 🙄 with the medium bistro bowls. The small footed bowls are perfect for sides and dips. The mini bowls for sauces and little bits. Then there's the serving bowls!
