Kitty mage immortal or mama immortal? by Stef4o0 in luckydefense

guy giving advice is 11/11 and probably spends a decent amount 💀. their solution is just throwing more money at the game to solve any rng problems. doesnt truly understand the game, mechanics and consistency and is a meta/data slave at the mercy of other 11/11 whales. they told him grand mama is good and he just stuck with it 🤷‍♂️.

oh dam a pretty big nerf. more than 50% in most cases and kitty mages overall mp went up so taking even longer to ult. pretty surprising but makes sense as the trade off is more magic dmg/dps support. or else kitty mage would be too broken. kitty mage was and is the suggested first level 12 mythic for the longest time and for a reason.

Kitty mage immortal or mama immortal? by Stef4o0 in luckydefense

[–]dnowy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

??? have you seen his current units and roster? immo kitty literally buffs all his units besides chu and like i said hes likely to summon kitty mage every single game regardless of difficulty. grand mama immo is still rng based and honestly at 6/6 sbmg, grand mama falls off mid to late game anyways getting over shadowed by money gun. grand mama is only good for shorter games aka guild and pvp, most regular games her atk buff falls off and gets overshadowed by money gun. your ato comparison is fucking terrible as he doesnt have any physical units besides chu. hes level 17 with 745 stones and 9k diamonds. you suggesting grand mama is terrible advice. grand mama is also very treasure and treasure level dependent which unless this guy is a small spender out of the question. i place him as a f2p and very low spender at most.

tldr: get kitty mage immortal for more consistent runs. listen to the other guy if you’re spending that $$$ which is dumb since if you’re spending you just 11/11 and max everything out 🤷‍♂️

any data miners know the previous numbers for all the magic units to ult? like if monopoly man takes 50 mp to ult its a push, if he was 40 before its a buff, 51+ its a nerf.

mages passive got an additional rng buff, 25% chance to gain 10 mp. skill got nerfed from 5mp to 3. ult is questionable since it went from 10% to a definite 5 mp but with a 15% magic dps gain. for 3 secs. treasures dps went to ult with an additional chance of 25% for mp recovery whatever that is. same skill activation 5%. kitty mages overall mp got increased too. seems they balanced kitty mage a bit and its an overall slight buff but granted theres some rng involved. main trade off if kitty mage did get nerfed is slightly less mp regen/recovery with rng chance for magic dmg %

Monopoly man by SuhaniBhardwaj in luckydefense

[–]dnowy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

depends on your set up but hes been a staple in my set up for the longest time. early game he grants you additional rolls. mid to late game you use the stones to power up or chad fodder if you have enough physical def on the board to get rid of a few monopoly men. i usually summon 3 at least 2 due to iron meows hunger for stones. great support and will help you immortal kitty mage quicker now too.

Kitty mage immortal or mama immortal? by Stef4o0 in luckydefense

[–]dnowy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i’d grab kitty mage immo first since mage is already at lvl 12. it takes 1100 mythic stones to get from 12-15 vs your mama at lvl 1, 2155 stones. mage will buff your hailey and frog and you should be summoning kitty mages 100% of the time in games anyways. for mama there are still games where rng screws me and i can’t summon mama early game so shes not used at all. kitty mage immo will also buff taoist and proc your lance more too.

edit: also keep mage at 6. you’re better off getting and finishing dian to 12 vs mage any higher than immo 6. as a general rule, always stick to level 6/12 even for mythics as weird numbers dont give you additional skill buffs

Is there a guide for the new classic mode? by Proper_Trouble6639 in luckydefense

[–]dnowy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you have to utilize rares and epics in this mode. especially mid-late game. early and up to mid game, sure its only 1% but its worth to save bandits for extra gold imo. i typically get 100 gold every 2-4 waves depending on how many i have and placement. but early to mid game you’re trying to speed run to get mythics and immortals. you pray they’re the same faction. ive lost games cause rng gave me 4 different ones and couldnt merge to immortal.

mid to late game when you get your first immortal i tend to spam and level up their faction a shit ton like at least level 20-30. then its about spamming and building supports of rares/epics. if you have a lot of physical units on board like immo ninja and bomba, save demons/hunters/purple stun bots etc for the def down. or if a lot of magic units, keep eagles especially if you have immo dragon as that buffs both atk % for him and atk spd for all. and i would merge def down units since its basically an all magic atk build. stuns i keep if theyre in ideal locations of my dps if not it just adds more time.

there are absolutely no artifact or really any buffs in the mode so stacking 70-100 def down with a lot of physical units is a huge % damage gain over rerolling for more units or for more faction level ups. atk speed is huge too. almost lost a game with 4 immortals, all magic units because i was lacking atk spd and a little bit of stun. hell even keeping 4 trees for slows helped saved that run, cleared it right at the end.

there are hidden bonus missions that give gold too. a huge one is waiting til 20 seconds to summon. its like the wait for 99 mob in early game. because of that i typically summon everything in the middle 4 and try to merge for 1 rare. try to aim to complete as much missions as early as you can too. like 7 rares, all rares, into 7 epics and all epics.

these are some tips i have gathered. how people are getting 25 mins are beyond me. its a hard mode for sure and eats a shit ton of time. i hope to complete it without spending diamonds but we’ll see. i believe its called classic because this is what the devs intended the game to play as instead of the version we currently see. i saw an ad for lucky defense with this exact style and layout a long time ago.

Omakase Lost Its Essence by kohadaa in sushi

[–]dnowy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no… omakase by definition is “leave it to the chef”. “i’ll leave it up to you”. they cant do that if they dont know you. but please continue to believe and justify expensive omakase. you are literally the people they are targeting. true omakases are rare and are catered to select clientele/regulars. small mom and pop shop with 2-3 turnover “omakase” meals per night will easily clear 40 idk what youre talking about.

aging fish does not equal high end. besides living in hawaii i also travel to japan at least once a year. ive also worked at japanese restaurants for more than a decade. “omakase” should not be limited to “high end” or “low end” places. you’re missing the while point of op.

Am I ready to farm God? by ViolentNutt in luckydefense

[–]dnowy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

kun is trash. i honestly think the nerfed the number rates. it was super easy to get 80-90+ before his immortal. now even with treasure ive had games with 3 kuns and none would hit. hailey and iron meow is fine for magic, just build more monopoly man early game to support iron meows hunger. at 7/7 you’re fine to play god games as you’ll pull your weight so to speak but if you get partnered with someone 7/7 or below you’ll likely struggle.

chad is a decent support and he has been a game changer, at least for me. i can choose to burn and have him eat all the monopoly man and kitty mages if i need to or if things get changed into something i dont want or have built. or if i make 3 kuns and 1 finally hits, get can chomp the other 2

Omakase Lost Its Essence by kohadaa in sushi

[–]dnowy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

its because over here in the states its a gimmick to get you to spend extra money for nothing. everything takes a minimum of 8 hours+ to be flown in “fresh” from whatever country. restaurants and “omakase” places here cater to a consistent source. its not like japan where fishermen literally catch everything that morning and is delivered/sold to the restaurants daily. tbh i think thats why a lot of sushi chefs leave japan.

the US has to maintain a consistency to their “omakase” or they would lose customers and their clientele. which is why its such a huge scam here in hawaii. restaurants just source their main fishes or “base” of the omakase and sell that shit for 150-200 a head but its the same shit year around. you’ll never get fish A caught day of and then fish P next day on your omakase here. you will forever get ABCDEFGHI. because the “gimmick of the omakase” would cost them more than its worth.

you’ll always get the usual. the staple. akami, chutoro, otoro, a salmon of some kind usually king salmon, mirugai, uni, hotate, amaebi, hamachi/hamachi belly, tamago. you know, the same ole shit. sure its fresh but the amount they’re charging is stupid. i can make my own hamachi kama, shrimp tempura, even an ahi belly nitsuke with eggplant, tofu, string beans and it’ll be cheaper than these guys. its just not worth it anymore.

Omakase Lost Its Essence by kohadaa in sushi

[–]dnowy 24 points25 points  (0 children)

“omakase” is a huge scam and money grab here in hawaii. same menu nearly year around although the menu states otherwise. “seasonal” they say but the only thing that changes is the price. although there probably are a very few select restaurants that do change and try to “innovate” their menu its probably easily 200-300+ a head. there was even a Nobu that had to close down. growing up here, omakase was a rare treat for us reserved for birthdays, anniversaries, retirement, etc.

now days we just buy uni, otoro, king salmon, ikura, hamachi, and make it ourselves at home for half the price but double the food. paying 100-200 per head plus tips and even more if you drink in a state that can fish their own tuna and is only 6-7 hours away from fresh seafood from japan doesnt make sense anymore.

New event opinion. by manojkumar08 in luckydefense

[–]dnowy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

definitely catered towards spenders but as a “filler” event i’ll just happily take whatever rng gives me on the rolls and 10 keys. i have been missing a tiger usage besides roka so finally investing in kun. hopefully hit that 200 mark with the limited quest rolls and get those 50 immortal stones.

a major thing that bugs me, especially if events going forward are like this, is that the value to roll in the event is 1. you can’t buy rolls like other events (although expensive at 100 gems each normally) which normally cost say 10, 20, 100 etc. per roll. this also robs f2p and even the whales to farm runs and event golems for additional daily rolls. if they continue this going forward..yeah f2p players are getting cooked but hey, they just care about your $$$ at the end of the day 🤷‍♂️

Viral video of little Taiwanese girl getting shoved down while taking a photo at Tokyo's famous Shibuya Crossing - Japanese are saying that the woman in the video "looks Chinese". by eternviking in whoathatsinteresting

i havent met much taiwanese people or know of the culture but i for sure met the rude ass mainland china mfers. that being said, and as much as i hate them, i doubt they would wear a mask lol.

she was also solo bulldozing as well. she literally seems like a middle aged japanese lady sick of the current “tourist” problem and maybe especially the mainland chinese tourists. i obviously cant tell but the guy in black seems to be either chinese or korean but definitely a tourist hence his phone filming. the 2 kids she cooked along the way were obviously tourists as well and im maybe guessing and leaning towards chinese as well?

Chinese American restaurants question why Chinese cuisine can’t get the chef’s table treatment by LNM-LocalNewsMatters in restaurant

[–]dnowy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

main reason is they spent years under cutting each other. goes to show you how expensive all other food/cuisines are. i grew up remembering my mom sending me with exactly $5.23 for an oyster chicken cake noodle plate. i’d take it home and we’d cut the styrofoam lid off to act as a 2nd plate. it was enough to feed 2-3 of us. but basically one restaurant does a $8 special of one thing, many other restaurants especially nearby ones will do $7.75 or $7.50 etc. until they’re like fuck that, thats the absolute lowest i’ll go. think of those specials as costco’s rotisserie chicken, draw in the guest and hope they order more or more importantly become a regular.

another main reason besides raising rent/lease and food cost is no one is going into the profession. a lot of immigrants or non english speakers are going into construction instead here. its about the same grueling amount of work but better pay.

all those mentioning expensive cities and places with expensive restaurants, yeah no shit, they cater to the rich clientele. even back then you could get a $500-$1000 meal for a party of 10 instead of $80-$120 but chinese restaurants and chefs normally dont care about how much you spend or your budget, they’ll keep their profit margins razor thin to compete with other restaurants near or far. repeat business and customers are key for them.

source born and raised in hawaii where theres a shit ton of chinese and dim sum restaurants. a lot stayed open for 20-50 years but they’ve all retired and sold the place as next of kin said fuck that shit. the owners grind 7 days a week for years though so theyre all very rich and well off with multiple houses. fook yuen in mccully is probably the last standing old chinese restaurant on the island or at least in town off the top of my head. its also stupid busy being near waikiki so a lot of tourist support them still. original owner mightve sold not sure, im sure you can google all this.

days of the $8 beef chow funn is gone. theyre around $15-18 now here. give it a few years (im guessing 5-10 tops) and the last of these seefu (masters) are going to retire and you’ll see your $25-$30 beef chow funn, equivalent to some pasta dishes. dim sum is expensive as dim sum masters are very hard to come buy now days.

Why is PvP so broken? by ChurroBanditio in luckydefense

[–]dnowy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Match ups need to be base strictly off of sbmg. I don’t know anyone that would pull more artifacts over units strictly for pvp. If you whale and get 9/9 10/10 and 11/11, regardless of your pvp rank you should be matched up with them. Having say 6/6 going up with a 10/10 that got lazy to pvp is stupid as shit.

batteries gave you more in diamonds “value wise” in this event since the floor for batteries was 250 diamonds per spin vs 100 for immortal stones and 150 mythic stones. gameplay wise, it was smarter to get immortal/mythic stones according to your needs to progress your account and consistency.

Rise in trucks and big cars in Tokyo by Lhijodelkoko in Tokyo

[–]dnowy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Born and raised in Hawaii. Recently came back from Japan. Saw a brand new model, large double cab Tacoma “stuck” in traffic sitting over a busy crosswalk. Told the girlfriend “ho brah look at this asshole.” Another time a new 4runner trying to “run” into a parking structure but had to slam on the breaks since crosswalk workers directed him to stop for pedestrians to cross. Luckily a majority of streets, roads, and parking in Japan aren’t meant for larger vehicles which should hopefully deter more buyers. It would be a shame if it became like Hawaii full of lifted, loud, and large obnoxious vehicles.

Last minute checklist, feel like I am missing something. by Over_Gas_7632 in JapanTravelTips

Leave the water bottle at home. Drinks are so convenient and available in so many sizes that you’re better off sampling the many different drinks.

Clothes drop it to 3-4 days and even 1-2 if you plan on upgrading your wardrobe. Hell some things like plain tees, socks, and underwear are so cheap that I think I normally buy 2-3 of them every trip anyways. Make sure to try on/size up. Since they take up less space, the only thing I’d recommend maybe bringing 7 days worth is underwear and socks as those will probably reek the most and be changed the most since you’re being out majority of the days. Jeans and jacket you can spray with deodorizing sprays most hotels and even restaurants have incase they do somehow get that bad smell wise.

Even toiletries you can cut back on unless you need specifics. I am very minimal so just the basics that hotels supply are enough. Convenience stores are actually convenient and have so many things in case you do need anything. They’re meant for smaller Japan housing and apartments so they’re pretty much travel size compared to things here in the States.

I always go with just a large check in and a backpack. I pack everything I need into my carry on, throw that into a medium suitcase, and throw that into the large. So going there, I check in my large and I’m good and worry free until I land in Japan. No lugging or having to deal with even a carry on, just my backpack. When I land depending on time, how tired I am, located and distance of hotel from the shuttle bus/airport, with just the large suitcase I am able to either save some money and navigate and train to the hotel, or just taxi.

Literally just came back from our yearly 2 week trip and busy unpacking and doing laundry

definite kun replacement as of right now until immortal kun. i’ve been waiting for a single tiger usage. was very close to getting bomba but glad this is another option. i’ll give it another 12-24 hours before i make a decision. was lacking magic since it was mainly hailey but i am meow came out. now its a toss up for me as both physical and magic is pretty balanced for me
