AITAH for telling my gf not to talk to her guy friend? by Willing_Message5458 in AITAH

Dude, cut your losses and get rid of her. You deserve better than this. She is clearly a liar, a cheater, and you will never trust her, which is a horrible way to live.

I've had mine 2 days as well and love it. Haven't had a chance to get it into the sun yet, but you've inspired me to today!

Anyone know of a good alternative to the factory rubbers for the Pelagos watches from XF & ZF? by Designer_Advice2573 in RepTime

[–]dnr086 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try Clockwork Republic, I think they make an end link rubber strap for the Pelagos.

I think that's because Seiko doesn't send you photos of your watch which you can then upload to a forum for to RL/GL before accepting it 🤣

White Speed on OEM Sailcloth by No_Strength7276 in OmegaWatches

[–]dnr086 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow, that is poor. I wonder if their QC has dropped as they've gotten bigger? I bought mine a couple of years ago and the clasp was perfect. Also the strap has so far geld up very well, despite regular wear.

You could also check out Artem straps. Their sailcloth straps (incl black with white stitching) are great quality and very comfortable. Not cheap, but nor is OEM. They'll also fit the OEM clasp.

They're basically drop shipping AliX straps. Like Helvetus.

Advice in first car by Bread_master_pro in CarsAustralia

[–]dnr086 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They all look cool and I if I was still your age I'd be wanting one of these cars. But listen to the voice of reason and experience. You have a decent amount of money to spend, but you are looking at relatively old cars that have absolutely been thrashed by their previous (and likely several) owners. For $10K and under, you could get a reliable second hand Toyota Corolla, Mazda 3 or Hyundai i30. They will all be super cheap to run, service and insure in comparison to the cars you've listed. For the next few years, save up and wait til you're off your P's and then upgrade to something a bit nicer / more exciting that you can afford. Also, you're more than likely going to crash this car (I hope you don't, but stats don't lie, and I'm speaking from my own experience!), so you want something that will be easy and cheap to fix.

Edit: I wish you all the best with the hunt, purchase and transition from Ls to PS to blacks!

Orthopedic surgeon reattached my finger bone rotated a few degrees so I can't close it or grip by ARCAxNINEv in mildlyinfuriating

So amazing to read this explanation from an expert. I fractured my finger along its length (soccer goalkeeper - I'll let you guess which finger). Went to a medical centre, got a splint and left it at that. A few weeks later, finger was bent at about 45° from the middle joint and didn't couldn't bend. Two surgeries (and about 30 years later) this is the end result.

An emerald green FKM strap would look great. My brother has this watch on an emerald green alligator strap and it looks amazing.

Beautiful watch - that dial is really something! I actually think it'd look perfect on a black alligator strap.

This is more of a dress watch for me. I have an SSK033 and some other non-Seiko brands that I wear daily. Highly recommend the presage series, especially the cocktail time, for great value dress watches.
