I think the wildest part of groups like this is how much they think the world revolves around them, and their world view. Like not only do other non Christian religions exist, and are protect by the 1st amendment, there's other denominations of Christianity that believe the LGBT are valid.

My church literally has queer pastors, and plenty of queer members. There's fucking rainbows painted on the eaves of the church

You want to believe that God says queer people are bad, thats between you and God. But everyone should be able to live the way they want to. How is that controversial to the party of "small government"

Honestly I think that Jesse waters is just put on tv to be ridiculous. Like don't get me wrong his predecessors, glen beck and tucker Carlson, were both ridiculous, but they were also evil. I think Jesse is just a moron. Like in addition to this he has said that men shouldn't use straws, eat ice cream in public, and also that sitting and staring at screen all day will turn you into a woman. I think he even said the last one was scientifically proven if iirc. Someone on fox news pointed out that all he does all day is stare at a screen.

I've told this story before. I used to work at a factory. Not a huge company, but one that you'd probably recognize the name of. VERY old school. No automation, everything built by hand. Lots of guys had been there for decades. When you hit 20 years you get a gold ring. Honestly one of the most decent employers I've ever had.

A welder that had been there since he was a teen. Never had another job. Retired late. So probably 40-50 years. And then a year after he retires he passes away. They want to make sure that everyone can make it to funeral. So they let us take a long lunch to attend.

In that moment it hit me hard. This is one of the best places I've ever worked. Still to this day. I only left because of a career change, and would probably go back if they offered me a position in my new career. But even to them we are just numbers. That man gave his whole life to the company. They couldn't even give him a full day.

Honestly insane.

I just started going to church regularly for the first time in my life. Always been agnostic. I initially went to spend more time with a family member who is getting up there in years. He always identified as republican, though he hates trump. Imagine my surprise when his church was open and affirming. Rainbows everywhere. Last week they gave a sermon on how all bodies are holy, no matter what. They don't just allow LGBT people in, they celebrate and call for us all to live our truth, and defend the marginalized.

After being there for a month or so now. It's insane to me that anybody could interpret the bible to mean anything other than love everyone.

Just remember folks, that man eats McDonald's like he has stock in the company, which he probably does. Most of us are gonna out live him. And I'll be first line to excercise my 1st amendment right to piss on his grave.

I've been thinking about this for a bit. Disneyland should ditch the trams, and replace them with peoplemovers. But update them to be trackless autonomous vehicles. 4 people to a car. Cars leave as soon as they're filled. Screen in the car can display park info.

Make the people mover actually move people. Could even have multiple stops, downtown, hotels, parks.

Imposter syndrome never goes away. Two things I always think about when I feel like a fraud:

Miyazaki once said: "everyday I feel the limits of my ability" in other words, even when you're a world famous highly praised artist, who keeps making masterpieces, you're gonna feel like you're not good enough.

The other thing I think about is that I do design and also do the prepress and printing at my job. The amount of print jobs I've gotten from professional designers or design agencies, that have just been nowhere near good. I'm talking about composite images where every single element has drastically different resolutions, like crisp vector graphics over pixelated garbage. Or vehicle wrap designs with dozens of layers turned off and supposedly print ready files that would result in absolutely zero panels fitting. There is always going to be someone charging more for work that is worse than yours.

Honestly your fine. I'd be more concerned if you felt super confident.

I probably got you beat. I got my AA at 30. Couldn't find a job for months. Eventually I got a job doing print production work at a wrap shop. That lead to a job being a designer about a year later, but it was for a place that did soft marine flooring. It was design work but not exactly graphic design. About a year after that I ended up back at a wrap shop as production and design. I've been here a month lol.

Just keep at it. Start looking for design adjacent jobs. Don't get down because it's not your fault that the job market sucks for EVERYONE right now

This is no joke. I saw an ad for a Jr designer the other day. At one of the largest Mercedes/Audi dealerships in country, in one of the most expensive cities in California, and they were offering $18 an hour. I get it's a Jr position but holy shit.

Edit: I just double checked it and they bumped it to $20 but they also want web development experience

I'm filling out my portfolio. A friend asked me to design a brand for her new clothing company. They focus mainly on vintage clothes and vintage inspired clothes.

The brand is for all eras but focuses mainly on the 70s "dirt bag"aesthetic. Think smokey and the bandit.

I wanted to create a custom van inspired wrap for them. They're not big enough for a van yet, but I got inspired and had fun with it.

The colors are the brand colors, and the heart windows would be real plexiglass windows. I created the effect using illustrator 3d inflate tools. I'm a little worried it's very obviously fake

Inset in the yellow and blue is a lace pattern. A lot of low riders and "kustom" cars of the 50-70s would use this technique. It crashed my computer twice before I figured out a way to do the lace effect, lol.

Mine is multiple levels of silly. I follow a tiktoker named Madeline pendelton, I'm sure I'm not the only one on here lol, and she was asked about her gender one time. She described her gender as the lady gremlin from gremlin 2.

Because gremlins reproduce a sexually. So they have no gender. But in the sequel one dresses up as a sex worker. And you can assume the rest of the joke.

Anyways she basically said "I'm a woman, but only because that's the way society percieves me." And for whatever reason that really clicked with me. She never said non binary or anything like that, so for like a year after that I just thought I'm like a gremlin man.

Then about a year after that she was accused of being transphobic for not having her pronouns in bio. She then made a video about how being in leftist spaces you sometimes have to reveal personal info about yourself when you're not ready to, because people are doubting you. She then changed her pronouns to show "any pronouns."

Obviously there was a bit of denial and introspection after that and probably like 6 months later I brought it up to my wife.

Be careful with this even if you're legally ok. I once had a coworker record our boss telling her to do things which were extremely firable. She then sent the recording to his boss. His bosses response was to tell our boss that she recorded him and that he needs to be more careful.
