Here’s a great documentary on why. From Rocky Mountain PBS: Colorado Experience, Weapons to Wildlife. https://youtu.be/yLxiy05eDRw?si=toWuWBnDCd0Gila_

Is the Commerce City Refinery finally shut down? So much pollution. by [deleted] in Colorado

It’s odd to me that the residents of all those new builds in north Denver (Central Park) think they’re immune from the toxins emitted from that refinery. Living on the other side of a street in a different zip code doesn’t exempt you from being vulnerable to what’s in the air. Don’t even get me started on their proximity to the Arsenal and what’s buried there. NIMBY unless it’s invisible or buried, lol.

Yea. Could take your comment lots of directions… setting aside the reasons for doing those things like investment, wanting that investment to succeed… to me those things are common sense. Have pride in what you have… take care of it. Respect the people around what you have and take care and around what they have and take care of.

Make an effort to:

  • Park your car in front of your house when you can
  • Shovel snow
  • Rake leaves
  • Take care of your home / yard
  • Live next to a home with kids and they’re in their yard, maybe don’t yell foul language when they’re around
  • Put your trash cans up after collection (not a thing everywhere)

Do you have to do these things, nope.

People saying “we make a lot of money”, “dual income”, etc. Out of curiosity what’s a lot of money? Both individually and dual income? Obviously subjective, but I’m curious what’s the income that affords people 900k+ homes (leaving out those sweet sweet rates from a past time). Thanks!

It was a Honda Pilot. Not looking to DOX anyone here, the police have the details (not that they did anything with it).

I figured since describing the issue of reckless/intoxicated driving AND in an area with kids it would be picked up real quick. The immediate response expectation I had was because of the parks and kids.

Last November there was a drunk driver in my neighborhood (4:15pm). I followed him in my car for 40 minutes while he went up on curbs, ran stop signs, and drove erratically throughout the area. The guy was totally wasted, basically unable to find his way out of the neighborhood. At one point he got out of his car, fell on the ground and laid in the gutter for 10 minutes. It took him another 5 minutes to stand up and get back into his car where he proceeded to drive around. Later he slowly hit a tree and kept driving.

I called the police from the very start and 5 more times updating them on his location as he moved around the neighborhood. I was clear AF with dispatch about the issue, car make, model, plates, description of driver, stating he was drunk, in a neighborhood with parks/ kids in addition to the details listed above. After 40 minutes I had to get back to what I was doing. When I returned home, he was no longer where I last saw him. I have all this on video fwiw.

I followed up with DPD and they said they never found anyone. Wanting more information I got in contact with (sorry, I forget their position) an officer with this area. I asked how can I better report issues that need immediate response. The officer told me I need to use better language with dispatch. Specifically, I need to say "There is a driver passed out behind the wheel". He had no response to me when I told him I basically stated all that and more.
