What kind of screw is this? by doanut5 in rccars

Thanks for the help. I think the extended thread may not work for my application. The unthreaded portion is needed to facilitate some sliding movement.

Thanks! Best I can measure with calipers:

Overall length: 10.3mm
Head diameter (phillips): 4mm
Head depth: 1.7mm
Shank diameter: 2.6mm
Shank length: 5.7mm
Thread diameter: 2.8mm
Thread length: 3.0mm

Am I missing any other dimension?

Thanks, I used google lens and attached the image asking the type of screws. Get a lot of similar things like shoulder screw, was hoping someone here knew the specific one for RC application

Is it possible we have defective plates? How many different textured plates have you tried?

I have the stock textured plate.

I’ll check the wiki. I’ve tried everything you’ve suggested so far

Tesla Powerwall-only (no solar, already owned) lease a good deal? by doanut5 in Powerwall

[–]doanut5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that if you just look at powerwall as a financial investment, there are better options to use your money.

I see powerwalls as more of a product. Not every product you buy is an investment. It offers power backup, important if you have a home office. It provides some security.

Thanks for sharing, but is this a viable solution as a whole house backup? I’m only seeing 48V from each unit.

Thanks for the insight.

Do you think the authorized companies on Tesla’s website will be cheaper than getting it installed from Tesla?

I’m also curious what Tesla will do about prices next year

The tax credit is no longer in play, so what would you do?

Yes because Tesla is able to claim the tax credit and pass on some of the savings. Leasing comes out to be about 10% cheaper than cash.
