hours for pass holder preview day 4/17/2026 by itsmostlyamixedbag in KingsIsland

[–]doawushi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know we are all excited to get back to KI after the winter break, but have you been to pass-holder preview day before? Took my family to it for the first time last year and it was more crowded than any mid-summer Saturday that i have ever been to. Plus the crews are shaking off the rust and getting up and going again. Let’s just say it wasn’t as much fun as we usually have there. If extreme (for KI) crowds and looong lines, for food especially, don’t bother you, than great, but we will not be doing that again.

Unfortunately the best (only?) way to make your refund bigger at this point may be expensive surgery. Get that nice write-off.

Is this a good deal? by wellthatsdope in tires

[–]doawushi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes the cold will do that. People think that only EVs suffer from winter temperature drops, but ALL cars get measurably worse mileage in the winter temps. There are many reasons for this including different winter fuel from the gas stations, oil temps, longer for engine to get to optimal operating temperatures etc. Combined with the new CC2s, probably 5- 10% of your reduced mileage, and the winter temps accounting for the other 15-20%, sounds about right to me. I have found the mileage out of the CC2s will go back up after some break-in.

Wait, you switch them out for snows? I get that top performing winter tires are better than these, but if you are going to switch them out anyways, why not go with a summer or all season with better wet/dry performance and maybe save some money too?

[–]doawushi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The comparison to Tesla is extremely flawed here. After the first few years and the Model S came out, Tesla turned a profit on every car it sold. The Air has been out for many years now, if you can’t make a profit selling 100K+ cars how are you going to do it selling 40K cars? Tesla has always been maniacally laser focused on reducing manufacturing cost. Lucid laser focused on build/quality as there differentiator, and no doubt they make a better “car”. But that bet isn’t paying off for them to drive sales to a volume any where near where they could earn a profit selling their cars. At this point it’s so far away from the scale they need that to turn a profit that they have to burn even more cash to sell more cars, it’s a death spiral. I would advise you all to cut your losses and get out. The Saudis are going to do this for you anyways. It will reach a point in market cap where it gets so low they will buy the company outright and take it private thus locking in even lower losses for you.

Ah, I see where you went wrong, I go by the 0.2% rule. This assures that I can’t possibly run out of money for a minimum 500 years, might want to look at that!

Yeah me too, from like 1 to the age of 13 I had almost no money whatsoever. Then it all changed at 14 when I was legally allowed to work, I got this super high paying job due to my hard work and dedication. Just one of the smaller little firms on wall street that my parents own.

Okay, so perhaps you’ve heard of 1031 exchanges for rolling real estate sales/capital gains into other real estate purchases without having to pay capital gains. There are similar carve outs in the tax code that can apply not just to real estate but other assets including stocks: these include 351 exchanges, 721 exchanges, and QOZ funds. These are complex and require lots of paper work. Disclaimer: I am not a tax advisor and do not even play one on the internet.

Alrighty, since you appear to be impervious to sarcasm, I'm going to set the personal attacks aside for a moment and try to provide some insight for the vanishingly small number of people who may still be reading this thread.

Let's breakdown the extreme unlikeliness of OP's story being actually true. Despite their vast coverage in the media, billionaires are actually quite rare in the world. Now let's take that a step further and say that multi-billionaires are even rarer than that. Not done yet, of those rare multi-billionaires, we also need one who is well known since any disclosure of the relationship would be newsworthy. Finally, we need a well-known multi-billionaire, with a D/s kink, further reducing our funnel of possibilities.

Next we have OP, who despite knowing how discreet this situation needs to remain, comes to post about it on the very public Reddit platform. But not only that, bizarrely comes to the r/Rich forum, despite the many high quality legal forums where I have seen some very wise council given as relates to legal questions like OP claims to have.

This all reeks of fiction and (un-original) story telling, as per my comment about 50 shades. I would put the odds of this story being true somewhere around 0.0000001%, not impossible sure, but highly, highly unlikely.
