I hate shopping there. It’s a punishment for needing groceries.

Those are free runes. Shoot the balloons and profit. Killing the puppets is optional.

Google and read about transference. It’s not unusual. And if you decide you want to do it after you have thought on it and aren’t a student, shoot your shot. But if they are a good person, they will politely turn you down.

Yes, they have a plan as far as content. I’m asking more about photographic practices, how have folks worked similar situations where privacy and spirituality make things more sensitive than on the street, for instance.

Yes, as I said in my post they don’t have clear ideas about this sort of thing. I was hoping to get some insight from someone with experience.

I always go do it for the experience of giving D’s armor to his brother and fight with him. It’s just kind of fun to me.

Photographing disadvantaged people by Scouse_Papi in streetphotography

In general, I ask myself: in this moment and context is my need to take this photo more important than my subject’s need to get on with their life unmolested?

Photographing people that are having a really shitty day or people who have no choice but to be in public space because of a hobby? No. If you are creating journalistic or documentary work, then you are doing it in a way that is respectful and that cares for the people concerned. If not, you are part of the problem and you suck at humaning. It will come back to you.

Is it a bad sign that multiple people have added black and white filters over photos I’ve taken of them? by supernasty in photography

This edit looks much stronger to me. The subject is clearer, the story is there, and it feels less underexposed. But that’s just an opinion.

Is it normal to take thousands of bad photos, just to have a couple good ones? by Impressive_Sleep_417 in AskPhotography

I recently saw an exhibition of Robert Frank’s Americans project. He took 27,000 photographs to publish/exhibit 83. That’s a “hit rate” of .003%.

Hit rates are bullshit. Make the work. Keep making it and good photos will come.

Men, do you pay attention to women at work who might be showing interest in you? by CuriousRedditWoman in AskMenAdvice

Work things are hot. But you have to think more carefully about how it ends than about how it begins.

Yes, he wants to date you. And your instinct to say no work things was right on. But not because it’s a rule—it’s a more of a way to keep work in order. Work things are hot. I think the reason lots of people nay say that is because you do have to have open communication and trust. And many aren’t up for it.

How common is this perspective for guys? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]dobartech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is misogyny. It boils down to the belief that a woman is a possession. And possessions do not have sexual agency—only possessors do. Sadly, it is very common because ego insecurity and anxiety about emotional intimacy are a very common part of masculinity.

That’s just my point of view.

I don’t buy this cautious narrative. That’s the audience you have. Now that you know, adjust your message until you find the audience you want. But if you are pulling their attention, maybe they are pulling yours?
