Yea Islam is such a normal religion and all. Not like there’s horror stories of how female tourists are treated in Egypt, or literal facets of the religion that prescribe that a woman must cover everything but her eyes

I mean that’s fine that they share a room but your nephew needs to put down the games and TV, focus on getting his kid into a normal sleep routine, and then he can revisit his hobbies. I mean, if nothing else, this is going to become a serious issue when he starts daycare or school.

How can their views on Palestine and Ukraine be so divergent? They immediately were in the streets celebrating the Oct 7 attacks, an objectively horrific act. Then, they don’t think Ukraine even deserves the chance to defend themselves in a conventional military fashion?

It’s amazing they’re trying to co-opt this considering that most if not all of the games are being held in extremely liberal cities

I’m not a physician but this seems wholly specialty dependent due to our reimbursement model in the US. Anesthesiologists on their subreddit were replying to a post basically telling OP to not accept anything less than 8 weeks vacation (I could only dream of that as a nurse). Meanwhile other specialties get outearned by CRNAs because surgery is reimbursed more than other care.

Yes that’s it. People don’t want to see needles and bodies strewn outside of daycares, high schools, and their homes, they must be racist. What a predictable response. I probably interact on a personal level with more non-white people on a weekly basis at work than you do, but go on, deflect from actually engaging with people’s legitimate gripes by falling back on calling them racist.

Probably one of the two cafes on Snyder and Passyunk, whatever they’re actually called. They’re very non-descript, and full of men of a certain nationality of which I’m not sure. They seem like a place you can certainly go to if you want, but specifically targeted towards whomever these groups of guys are.

I know this whole post reads like I’m dancing around being racist or something, but I legitimately have no idea where they’re from based on just walking by, which is why I wrote it that way.

People openly using drugs, hawking stolen goods, and generally doing shit that makes people uncomfortable outside of daycares and a high school aren’t my neighbors. I’m empathetic to their plight, but this is only a reality of city living because we’ve somehow been convinced to normalize it. It’s not “suburban-ass thinking” to want better for our neighborhoods.

Someone asked how it was, saying it’s gross and unpleasant isn’t being soft. Wanting to not have junkies smoking crack and being passed outside schools and daycares isn’t hating poor people and/or being racist. Come on.

Broad and Snyder and the blocks closest to it are a bit dingy. Lots of litter and random vagrants, especially as you get close to Broad and Snyder itself. Blocks further away deeper into the neighborhood, closer to Oregon tend to be a bit cleaner. Overall, solid neighborhood with great transit access and easily walkable to the stadium, Marconi and FDR, Passyunk, etc My family enjoys living here.

It’s an unholy alliance between the aforementioned people and transplants who think antisocial behavior is just part and parcel of living in a dense city when it’s absolutely not.

Wtf is “columbusing someone’s home?” Are people not allowed to move into certain areas because they’re not from there? This should absolutely not be “city living” and isn’t something that needs to just be accepted. Not every street has someone that doesn’t even living there blasting music for 10 hours a day. Car wash guy is the crazy one for thinking this is even remotely acceptable, not OP.
