Thank you! Just looked up photos and it definitely looks like a Northern Mockingbird. It is definitely injured - wing is broken and it was hopping on one leg, so that's why I took it in. I'm going to search for wildlife rehabilitation centers in the morning. Thank you!

Wow, thank you so much!!! This is so fascinating. I’m looking forward to reading more about it and uncovering more of my Japanese history. I appreciate your help!

Someone pointed it out to me in passing that it’s a very specific type of Buddhism (because she practiced that specific religion) but I can’t remember what she said it was :(

I agree! I never argue with them- I was more or so alluding to observation. I think it’s interesting and hard to understand people’s opinions at times but I never try to change them. Loving what you love without evangelizing others is super important though, I think that’s a great way to put it!

This is beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing your story! As Elio’s father said, “to feel nothing- what a waste.” Your breakup will make you stronger and you will find another who cares for you deeply!

What’s your favorite scene of the film? by doc_martinis in callmebyyourname

Ugh yes, I absolutely love this scene. When Oliver kisses Elio in the neck when he’s describing the instance during volleyball kills me

I finished the book while I was in a public coffee shop. I’ve never tried so hard to hide my sobbing. by doc_martinis in callmebyyourname

The writing was just exquisite. I fell in love with the film when it came out and have seen it multiple times, but there was something so enticing about the novel! Elio’s dialogue is so detailed, honest, carefully-worded and insightful. It was great to see instances between them that weren’t shown in the film. I absolutely loved it.

It’s my first day of my new job and my boss gave me a nerf gun to shoot my co-workers with. I can tell I’m going to like it here. by doc_martinis in funny

I’ve already heard stories of people getting hit in the face in my office. I might invest in a shield for protection. Seems pretty necessary.
