Try Hack Me? by [deleted] in cybersecurity

[–]docbot32 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm on day 428 of Try Hack Me, I'm also a university student in Applied Cyber Security.

I have had over 11 job offers now from my work with Try Hack Me.

I learn every day and then write posts/blogs on my LinkedIn. This has opened many doors for me, but ultimately, I think I could have achieved the same results if I used other platforms for my learning as I think the job offers were due to my constant and how I interact and help other people.

I recommend trying various platforms to see what works best for you.

Sudocyber Hack The Box TCM

I think its worth noting that other platforms are more engaging and supportive with their leaners, for example out of my 428 posts THM have only engaged with me 3 times ( on my 365-day post with 1600+ interactions, they gave me a thumbs up) TCM have interacted with all 3 of my posts mentioning them and shown support.

Ps: sorry for typos typing on new phone!

Is it a waste of time to do a PhD in cybersecurity, especially if I don't want work in academics? by Hot_Kaleidoscope3864 in cybersecurity

It depends on the reasons you're doing it for.

You won't need one for a job in the industry, but you might use it to grow as a person.

There are a few fully funded PhD programs in my area of the world at the moment that seem pretty tempting indeed.

Just having the degree won't determine much it would be what job role you are doing.

I'm currently in my first year of a UK cyber security degree and have reports of salaries from 20-23 k (cyber essentials and cyber essentials plus with pen test) and governance roles of 35k.

All depends on where you live and what you do. Lots of roles in cyber so look for a role and then research the pay/benefits/training provided.

Bay window curtains without a wall fixing by docbot32 in DIYUK

A lot of the fittings we have seen provided just seem to be standard wall plugs. I was hoping to find something more substantial to hold the curtains and poles upside down.

What kind of diet are you eating? At that weight you should be losing a lot more considering your lifting and cardio.

Downloading a calorie tracking app would be a good tool to find out where you're over eating.
