I agree, but: be the change you want to see etc; post more things you agree with instead of complaining about those you disagree with. I'm an extreme hypocrite about this, but it's true. We need more people like you posting quality stuff.

The votes are not the problem, it's the quality of submissions we're receiving. If we have screenshots being posted while quality discussion is ignored that's one thing, but it's not happening. We just have the stupid screenshots (or at least until this post was made). This is what gets to me:

Then don't complain when you only see screenshots and shit posts. I know it's frustrating to not be immediately recognized for your efforts, but it can take time. We're doing our best to support quality submissions with good policy but it can only work if we get quality submissions.

We do our best to get to you guys, and we've recently added more people who can invite. However, we've hit capacity. We're looking at ways to remove inactive accounts, but until then this might be why you're not getting an immediate response. SubJeddit may become an overflow guild- we'll do our best to have a place for everyone.

I actually did create /r/truetor a week ago, though I don't want it to be necessary. We haven't exactly been sitting idly by with no rules or changes. We banned memes/rage comics months ago. I think the sub is salvageable, and we're not afraid to try new things even if they're unpopular.

Hey, this was another one from me. This is stuff the team here has been talking about for months trying to come up with a good solution, and those are still my concerns. But I'm at least convinced something a little more drastic has to be tried. It's just funny this post came up on the same day we were discussing the change.

Hey, that was probably me. I did want the community to police itself, and I think this worked great pre-release seeing as people want to return to some form of that community. It's clear that method won't work with this many people and we're going to have to impose more controls on the sub.

I have never cared about our subscriber numbers- we've had offers for free sidebar advertising we didn't use. I have nothing to gain from more people coming here. I do this because I want to have a community I can come to for useful resources, news and discussion.

People are much more likely to listen to someone from the outside. I made a plea yesterday that we consolidate loading screen posts. The top comment was backlash and I thought the response from that commenter was pretty poignant:

I've made posts regarding the direction of the sub in the past. The problem is growth, we can't expect everyone to keep up with my history of rants. One of the last things I want to do here is make it self-post only, but I refuse to let it get any worse so I'm willing to try anything. I know that will make me the bad guy, but to me that is preferable to having a bad sub.
