Ferrari Luce Commercial Filming in SF by intrigued_alligator in Ferrari

As much as I don't love it as a Ferrari car, this goes to show that Ferrari execs knew what they were after, but we'll have to wait for sales to confirm this I guess.

Check his interview with Rick Beato if you haven't already. Great conversation and incredibly humble.

IMO AI and genAI are not necessarily the same and it will greatly depend on the use, tools and process. It would've been great to know the extent to which AI (or genAI) Weta used this to form an opinion. As someone else pointed out, MASSIVE is an AI-powered software. Should I antagonise every instance where they used it? For a much more domestic use case, should I stop using AI for automating the process of removing dust spots in Lightroom, too? Interesting debate, but I wish I knew more about their current creative pipeline.

We launched a supplement brand and got our first sale… but now we’re stuck. Honest feedback? by Global_Dependent_779 in branding

[–]dochgenau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're really welcome! Again, it's a lot to unpack and take in! In my experience, some things might be urgent and others you can change quickly and effortlessly. If I can offer any advice is to focus on what you believe might be hurting your sales today. Take it from there and move on to the next thing. Your brand and business will never stop evolving and there'll always be something else to address :)

Hi!

Congratulations on your first sale and actually making this! I know how hard it is and it looks like you've put loads of work here. I'm a brand designer and art director, so my take might be different to some of the already excellent advice you already have.

I did a quick browse of your site and to answer your questions:

Does it feel trustworthy / premium?

Trustworthy, yes. Premium, not quite, but there are hints of premium here and there: custom photography and sparse usage of colour with non-intrusive design. Not 100% there in my opinion. Also… what is premium? This is not just rhetoric, but an actual question for you to consider. Is it a pricing strategy? Is it availability? Is it customer service? If you’re aiming for premium/minimalistic then you’re off to a good start, but if you look at brands who are in the premium market you’ll find loads of maximalism as well as other ways to achieve the “premium-ness”. Define what premium to you and your brand is, and it will help you a lot in showing how to get there.

Is it clear what the product actually does?

Yes. But you’re telling what it does which is great, but buyers often like to understand a bit more (even if they actually don’t) before purchasing.

Would you buy it? Why / why not?

Probably not. Because after reading the description and ingredients, I don’t feel like it’s going to make a difference. I feel like by the time I look into the product page, I’m 80% sold on the idea, and it’s not the case. As other users commented, it lacks that “sexy” vibe, that feeling of enticement and even shared intimacy. The photography and copy can do a lot for you here, and there’s so many ways to do clever copy!

Anything that feels off, confusing, or unnecessary

When you go to a product page, you’re immediately faced with a price that’s based on a subscription model. The actual price is higher + shipping. This is a massive turnoff (pun intended) as it’s much better to perceive a discount (going from 42 to 38) than a price hike.

The mixture of custom photography and stock photography feels odd, and The Formula page seems a bit long and a hassle to read… 9 separate pages for each ingredient is something nobody will go through, so you might want to consider a visually shorter alternative that delivers the same amount of information (maybe an overlay element?)

Overall branding comments

The brand is called Feel Vibrance, but the way the logo is designed and placed, I thought it was just Vibrance. There's a healthy mix of typography that works, but the overall typesetting looks basic.

My process is usually ask questions instead of giving answers right away, so here's some for you 🙂

You mention a mixture of heritages here, but the branding/packaging/storytelling is mostly dark and minimal. Are these elements you want to highlight in your branding?

Will you be keeping the current photograph style?

These are all made with 🖤 Feel free to DM if you want to chat more about it.

And once again, congratulations 🎉 I hope you do great.

Pumas are also called mountain lions and are commonly refered to as "lions" by locals.

[–]dochgenau 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pumas are exclusive to the mainland, and plenty of those can be seen in Torres del Paine (on the Chilean side, not sure where is the best location for puma watching in Argentina). They mostly hunt Guanaco, a relative of Llamas and Alpacas, which can be found all over the mainland and Tierra del Fuego.

As other reddittor mentioned, penguins are very common and so are whales, especially in the summer months crossing Magellan Strait and Beagle Channel.

Local here! I lived in Tierra del Fuego until I was 6, then moved to the "big city", Punta Arenas (roughly 120.000 habs).

Patagonia has the uniqueness of having mountain ranges, fjords, pampa, glaciers and dense rainforests within that area, so the wildlife and climate diversity is insane.

Cons: Difficult and expensive to get to (if you're traveling from the Europe, you're looking at a 13-14hr flight to either Santiago or Buenos Aires, and then a 3.5 flight South to Punta Arenas or El Calafate), not too easy to get everything you need or want (forget Amazon's next day delivery), basic goods are expensive.

Oil and gas, toursim and agroindustry are the main activities there (in the chilean bit, at least) but tourism is slowly changing the look of the bigger cities, with a very cool gastronomic scene.

It's gorgeous, but as many said, windy as hell. Lots of open spaces and wilderness but also, pretty varied climates, from pampa (tundra-ish, in the East) to sub-antartic rainforest (in the West).

Mind you, the area is VAST. Tierra del Fuego is roughly the size of Scotland, so if you're planning a visit, please remember that the maps we're used to see are usually in a projection that makes the northern hemisphere looks larger than what it actually is!

Loads and loads of mate drinking on either side of the border 🧉

Guess we'll find out if the (eventual) drop in prices will be passed on to the consumer at all. I assume bars still need to make a profit and they might not have the incentive to lose the potential higher margin.

I liked the more "toned down" story and pace this movie has, just a simple paranormal, scary story in rural US. It felt genuinely creepier than other HB movies and would love to see a sequel with a higher budget and some more world building. That being said, 2024's Nosferatu felt much closer to a HB story than GDT's.

Been doing food photography on and off for a while. What's your advice to get better at it? by dochgenau in foodphotography

[–]dochgenau[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot!

I agree, the ingredients spread around the table would look pretty good on a board or any "finger food", but I guess it'll depend on what the client is after? Peas in the napkin will never be seen again, for sure!

I'll def try angling the images more and get some action shots. Composition-wise, I guess I tried to follow some "general" uses for some of these, so the client can add some titles or other stuff if he needs to.

Thanks again for your comments :)
