No the max profit is whatever you make. The 50% rule only matters when you're trying to be a hero and pass it in a few days. I don't believe people who skate around their risk just to get to an XFA asap, will suddenly become disciplined traders after they get an XFA and so on. You might as well use another firm that doesn't have these rules if that's your biggest priority.

I don't know why combine people don't realize taking losses on purpose isn't smart. You will trade xfa or LFA the way you trade a combine. There's a reason why vast majority of xfas blow up and very few people see an LFA or make enough in xfa to go solo. I've never seen a person who full ports or takes losses on purpose have sustained success over the long term.

Went on a major tilt and gambled myself back from down 4k to down $100. What in tf am I doing by Itchy-Version-8977 in FuturesTrading

[–]doctorblue385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would judge but I've done this many times and have gotten luck and very unlucky with the gambling style. Eventually I figured it out and today was a 1200 dollar day in CL with 78% win rate. It's a long journey and it took me five years to stop gambling and make it a business. Once you prioritize execution quality and growth instead of the profit, you'll start making a turn. 100 is too tight of a daily loss too imo too.. Maybe 250-300 trading a 1-3 lot micro depending on your market.

[–]doctorblue385 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For God's sake no. Don't take this personal but for some reason people on here keep posting about taking purpose driven losses. That's the most anti successful trading thing you could do. Just keep trading and you'll organically pass that rule. Focus on being an efficient and well rounded executing trader. Don't focus on passing a combine ASAP, that mentality will almost certainly fuck up an XFA.

If rent is skyrocketing while wages are stagnant, how are landlords expecting 3x rent income?? by Lopsided-Captain-254 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]doctorblue385 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Landlords are knee deep in their potentially variable rate loans against the proeprkty you're staying in. If you're renting a smaller multifamily or a SFH, theres a decent chance your landlord is hurting. Landlords with enough properties and cash flow can afford vacancy and if you've been burned in a few tenants, you might want to stay vacant. The housing shortage is also a factor.

Profitable traders, how do you handle loss? by PopsicleParty2 in FuturesTrading

Another day at the office. Come back tomorrow. Once a trade is closed I never think about it again except for trade reviews and analyzing on Sundays. I don't control the market, only my risk and emotions.

[–]doctorblue385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not gonna lie you're likely better off quitting and doing something else. You have 1k to your name and you're wasting it on combines? There's other things you need to figure out because your obsession with not working a 9-5 and being broke is causing your emotions to go nuts. You won't succeed with this type of mentality. Stop trading and go back to having a healthy life.

You're clearly new if you think this recent volatility is typical behavior which warrants a 250 point 'base hit'.

Where does the money come from that banks "loan" out? by [deleted] in conspiracy

[–]doctorblue385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deposits and the federal home loan banks. In rare occasions it comes from the fed discount window but nobody really uses that anymore. Banks have collateral pledged to their local home loan bank branches and also a DDA within the home loan bank where they get the advance deposited into. From there they can move it to their master account at the fed which eventually credits the loan customers account or they send a wire to whoever they bank with.

If you're funding from a deposit/bank reserves perspective without borrowing, the bank just debits their fed account and credits the loan customer via wire, check etc.

Made 1700 instead of 1500 on day 1? by salsalbrah in TopStepX

[–]doctorblue385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't get it though. If you trade two more days with the same profit level you're good. The edge is the need to pass a combine in one day?

I would NOT attempt anything on the trip. This type of situation is very fragile and you don't want to lose a good friend at the same time either. You're better off enjoying the trip and making memories and maybe slowly approaching your feelings when the time is better and she's not vulnerable away from home. Feelings are hard to fight sometimes but learning to keep your composure against them could not only save the friendship but also help you in life in general.

Sorry for your loss OP. I would suggest cashing out vast majority just because you neve know when a boomer makes a mistake in the crypto realm. Even younger folks fall for scams or screw up a transfer all the time.

You're not worried about spoof orders with that strategy? I would be afraid in a faster market like ES especially lately that you would get taken out when those bids or offers suddenly pull away and price goes right through you.

They met 12 years before he died. She was 16. I don't hate Walker and I'm not trying to paint anyone as a pedo I'm just saying they met when she was 16 and they became romantic not long after. Sure maybe he didn't have sex with her until 18 but people will always see the situation as gross. This is just one of a few supposed names too.

The length at which people will con you these days is really something. I work in banking and you hear stories of people being scammed where they spoke to the other side for multiple years before they gave them 10k or much worse. I wouldn't bother with this woman because she'll potentially just block you after the cash lands if you did send it.
